The Barrett .416 - Better than the .50 bmg

hi everyone! Just finished spending several days editing this video of Officer Jeff's Barrett. This thing was a beast. I hope you enjoy it.

taofledermaus post .416 Barrett Sniper rifle (upcoming video) from patreon

.416 Barrett Sniper rifle (upcoming video)

The .50 bmg is a 100 year old design. The .416 was designed in 2005 by Chris Barrett as an improvement. Few people I have talked to have even heard of the .416, so here is a video from Future Weapons showing it. The clip is ridiculously melodramatic, Gregg and I are planning to film a guest shooter's rifle this week. The rifle is a M99 chambered in .416. This is a faster and slimmer bullet than the .50 bmg, but lighter. It is a more-efficient shape and stays supersonic much further than the ...

UV Powder Porch Pirate Trap (diabolical)

I've been sick for the last week so I am a little behind. We test out the Fith Ops perimeter alarm using UV identifier shells that covers the perp with an invisible powder that becomes visible under a black or UV light. I cringed at making this video.thanks everyone for your ongoing support.

Weird stuff we did as kids before the internet

This is just one of many strange activities we did as little kids. We'd cut apart golf balls and expose the wound-rubber band interior. If we found the RIGHT golf ball, it was pretty cool. It kept us busy and out of trouble.thanks for your support!

taofledermaus post Rocket Nozzle Shotgun Slugs from patreon

Rocket Nozzle Shotgun Slugs

In order to fly under the radar of Youtube's censors (they really don't understand what we are doing) I had to be a little cagey about HOW we propelled these slugs. The focus is on the slugs, not the shotgun, anyways. I used slightly varying powder charges to control the velocities. thank you again for your support!

UV Identifier Shells - Upcoming video

I got these last year and haven't filmed them yet. I'm really not looking forward to the mess it will make. One thing I didn't know what what applications one would use these for. I can only think of a couple, so I am asking you guys if you have any ideas. The stuff is a BIG mess, even though it is invisible under normal light.

Youtube's newest rules should horrify you

I wanted to let everyone know what the heck is going on with the channel. You are probably tired of the little cannon videos and are wondering why we haven't posted any shotgun, etc. videos. I'm just trying to figure out what we can post. I also have to make a decision whether to just turn off the ads and keep YT from getting any earnings from our work, I hate letting them earn anything from our videos since they hate us. We aren't quite there as far as the number of Patrons we have....

taofledermaus post Redneck Missile Launcher from patreon

Redneck Missile Launcher

Shotgun shells and pencils actually work better than lead round balls out of these cannons. thank you again for hanging with us while we figure out what exactly we can post in regards to firearms videos. Getting really hammered by YT as they think everything from airsoft guns, paintball guns, and any firearms as being too dangerous to post on Youtube. Yes, even airsoft guns.

taofledermaus post Mini-Cannon Ridiculous Slo-Mo Shots from patreon

Mini-Cannon Ridiculous Slo-Mo Shots

I wasn't sure what to do with this last cannon sent to us by Pyro Creations. It's quite a bit less-powerful that the other cannons and very quiet. The best ammo I discovered were empty 12ga shells which fit snugly over the barrel and you can fill the barrel completely with black powder. They flew like redneck Nerf darts, over 100 feet and were pretty accurate!thank you again for you support.

taofledermaus post Why I appreciate you so much from patreon

Why I appreciate you so much

It is completely demoralizing when our videos get demonetized. Unfortunately it has only gotten worse. It is kind of like getting your paycheck and instead of paying you for all the hours you worked, someone decided that the work you didn't wasn't suitable to be paid. You'd probably start calling in sick while you went to other companies to interview for a new job. This photo represents only around 1/6th of the videos that YT has demonetized. There's almost 150 videos that have b...

The Moose Bullet - Black powder bullet adapted for 12ga.

Who would have thought a black powder bullet would function so well as a 12ga slug? I never would have thought it would but Larrry thought they might. These were cast from Moose Mould's wadcutter hollow-base mold. Unless you are a hardcore black powder shooter, you probably never heard of this company either. thank you Patreon supporters!!

taofledermaus post Magnum Mini Balls from patreon

Magnum Mini Balls

We test out Warwolf's 3" magnum lead round balls. Round balls are definitely not as accurate as Minie balls, but SEEM to perform a little better with rifling. I spoke with the owner of the company and suggested they offer loaded Minie Ball rounds.thank you Patreon supporters!

taofledermaus post How to make a .69 Cal. Minie Ball work in a .73 cal Shotgun from patreon

How to make a .69 Cal. Minie Ball work in a .73 cal Shotgun

I have gotten many people telling us that a Minie ball doesn't need a sabot or even a gas seal to function in a 12 ga shotgun. "it's designed to expand in the barrel" was the common denominator as far as criticisms go. We've made enough mistakes over the years to know what NOT to do. So we just treated these like any modern sub-caliber round and use a sabot. Since we knew a Minie would not expand .040", we knew we would need a real gas check and since we aren't relyin...

taofledermaus post The HEAVIES are coming! from patreon

The HEAVIES are coming!

We have some really heavy slugs coming up. The Fury slug is a beast and a nice looking jacketed slug that is only $1 each (unloaded). The black powder Minie' ball is probably the heaviest projo ever fired on the channel. From Australia, Denver just sent some full bore (.730") diabolo pellet slugs. He also had a mold custom-made for some full bore round balls. We've had a lot of rain here so it's been difficult to plan days to film. I just wanted to keep you in the loop of what is...
