Trailers and Talented Friends! | The Friday Update

The first thing that I need to share with you this week is the trailer for my upcoming film Boomers, which was revealed on Wednesday!

Watching it through, I couldn’t help but be extraordinarily grateful for the talented folks I get to work with.
Boomers is partly a result of me doing lots of reading and writing and interviewing etc., but so much of what makes it sparkle is the work of talented editors, motion graphic designers, composers etc.
And the trailer is a brilliant example of that!
Better still, the same day the trailer dropped, I also got to watch through some excerpts of the next YouTube video.
Me and Georgia had already been hard at work refining the animated elements of the piece.
But, as anyone who read the last edition of the Friday Update will know, last week we filmed all the sections in which I talk to camera.
Georgia then spent some time slotting those new bits of footage into the existing edit to get something approaching the final version of the video.
The first time I watched the version with both the animations and the to-camera pieces, I immediately went back and watched it again.
Those of you on the Early Access tier will already have seen a sneak peek, but I really think this video is a great combination of Georgia and I’s talents.
I’m really pleased with a lot of the writing elements, and the animations are feeling really energetic and engaging.
It’s a really meaty topic, the housing crisis, and so it was important to me that we made a video that felt fun to watch.
And hopefully we’ve done so!

So many exciting developments this week! I've been spending my weekends since my surgery with one of my partners, so I'm quite looking forward to watching the new video with them. I'm sure Georgia's knocked it out of the park on her end, as always!
