Patreon Extra Content! Recovered Bunny Suits!
🕑 Added 2023-12-01 05:06:30 +0000 UTCHey Patreons, got some interesting messages from a couple of you about the less ethical side of modding - people that take (steal) content without permission then recombine into their own mods.
This is a thing that tends to happen more among non-english speaking communities, simply because the language barrier makes it more difficult for them to understand the reasons that we do things the way we do in the Genshin modding community (ultimately we want things to be sustainable for all the stakeholders; the player community, the modding community, and also the game developers!)
For the most part, there's little to do about this kind of behaviour - ultimately we don't really sell things here, we're making playable fan art - and you guys help to sponsor the huge amount of work that goes into it, to which we're hugely grateful and appreciative. Like the stuff we make fan art of, it's a form of compliment and appreciation when others make fan art of our own works - and while we prefer it when it transforms the work more completely - like an illustration of our mods as some have done! But ripping our mods and remixing/kitbashing it is also a form of fan art - like photoshopping an illustration, or using collage techniques on photographs.
Still - in general, especially in these cases, as a matter of basic respect, it's desirable to ask for permission to do these things to other's works... given that so much of our work is present in these mods, I thought it'd be neat to share these among the same patreons that helped to sponsor their creation, at least in part!
Given that this is a little grey as far as content goes, I've decided to post it up on the extra-content side of the LMGG Discord server, so go there to grab it!

Absolutely agree with you LL. The only thing I truly despise is those that sell mods from creators like you as their own.

I love your work and especially Shinya's face edits. It's nice that you handled the situation with little to no malice. Reclaiming the work and sharing it as bonus content is justified. It'd be nice if other creators asked for permission and built relationships instead of just taking your work.

Seems that not everyone's discord integration is working correctly. DM me your discord username that you've joined the server with and I'll update your profile with the correct roles.

Yeah you cant stop it sadly , Especially Chinese and Korean Communitys do this alot sadly. Back in the days of Oblivion and Skyrim Modding, Korean and Chinese and also Japanese Communitys were always pissed when mods were " Stolen " When American or English Sites Posted their Mods on LL or other Platforms. So now its UNO Reverse Card it seems in that case. They hide their stuff with Cafe. Naver in Korea. And chinese in Baidu site. I can only help with Japanese Communitys. But thats it. Hope it doesnt happen to often.

i actually knew on a forum or on a patreon post from another creator (i don't remember exactly) about a Korean site that shares content from a lot of creators not just you Lad but i never knew that they will also claim the content as their own and sell it like that and also people actually thinking that is their own creations XD yeah is so sad that this happen but this is the internet is imposible to control it :/ but hey if we can say something "nice" about this is that we have some Bunny suits mods XD
