Get the low down on what happened before listening to TTPD and make sure to read the prologue poem. 😆 Midnights was confusing for a lot of people until her and Joe broke up and she released You’re Loosing Me (which was apparently written a year before they broke up 😱). Then when TTPD dropped everyone realized that Midnights was a breakup album and the “love” songs might not have been all about Joe. I’m sure a couple are, and it was her thinking back on when they first fell in love.

For anyone who’s been there putting the shared trauma into words is very cathartic, and I hope for young people that it is a lesson that can be passed down and taken to heart. Well yeah, that's it for Midnights except for the music videos which are all directed by Taylor and are insanely good. Glitch stans rise up. So good. And Hits Different is one of those Taylor pop songs that for me demonstrate why she is where she is. She is an absolute master of the form. All that said, the one prevailing thought I had watching you watch this was that if you weren't ready for Would've Could've Should've, The Great War, Bigger Than the Whole Sky, Dear Reader and You're Losing me, I'm gonna send condolences to your family after TTPD. Small correction here for misinformation here. Matty wasn’t even a thought in her head. Not one song on this album has anything to do with that man. Yes. They were friends at some point and showed up to one of his shows. Nothing to do with him. I just want to clear that up. I particularly do not like the paternity testing that some of the fans do. Especially none of it is based on fact. Outside of the Eras Tour. Which is the final boss you can wait for that. You definitely watch the Music Videos for midnights. There’s only 3 of them. Red TV I definitely would break up in chunks. It’s literally over a double album. You could absolutely spend a whole couple hours on All Too Well alone. There’s so many great moments both re-record and OG it’s hard to list of them. But the absolute must outside of the short film, but All Too Well Grammy Rehearsal/Performance. So many great MVs.

So, Bigger Than The Whole Sky is widely seen as a permanent loss. Most commonly related to the feelings surrounding miscarriage and infant/child loss. Of course all art is open to interpretation but I'm just giving you a different perspective of it. It is one of her most heartbreaking songs, imo
