🕑 Added 2025-01-08 13:07:12 +0000 UTCThat same evening, Giers was found by prison staff when they realized one person was missing during the evening headcount.
The plan was to send him back to his cell and give him a reprimand, but Valera let them know he had an injury. His arm was dislocated, and it was obvious. The local medical unit couldn’t provide the necessary treatment, so they had to send him to a civilian hospital.
At the hospital, during the examination, the doctor noticed something was off with the boy and decided to check him thoroughly.
She found marks on his body, cigarette butts, and his lost, frightened look pointed to the fact that the guy had been abused.
Giers was temporarily kept in the hospital, the doctor called the police, and the case caused quite a stir.
Valera accused the prison warden of rape.
The boy’s clothes were stained with tobacco from those same SPARTA cigarettes, which were also found under his clothing. He often disappeared into the warden's office, and there were many witnesses, though no one knew what went on inside.
Everything pointed to the warden’s guilt, and fortunately for Giers, the warden had many enemies among the staff who were willing to testify against him, even embellishing the truth a little.
Valera’s unusual appearance for a juvenile prisoner also played a role.
No one questioned why this particular boy had become a victim.
There was a trial, the warden was fired, found guilty, and soon imprisoned.
As for Valera, he had to return to the juvenile detention center.
