I watched some of Fujimoto 17-26. I've been feeling a little lost with my art lately, like I'm practicing but not getting better. Whenever I get to feeling like that Fujimoto always cheers me up. A lot of manga artists/animators feel absolutely untouchable, like they've never struggled with drawing. I love that Fujimoto is open about his insecurities. It makes me feel less insane!!!Here's mitsu with her dog plushie. She claims all the plushies are for VHS but we know the truth!

Here’s the new colors!! Olive and charcoal. The blanks feel INCREDIBLE. I ordered the new care cards today and I’m also gonna order the stickers. Originally I was thinking of just doing 3 extra stickers for these, but I have four designs I like and I might just say fuck it and eat the extra cost heheheh

I think it's just about done? I'm trying to make her look adequately shiny but I'm kinda missing the mark. It might just need some light reflected highlights in the shadow areas. Either way, I'm gonna hop off of it for half a day and work on other stuff.The problem might be that I've over-rendered it? Like maybe the hands and stuff are too busy. All in all I'm happy to be mulling over a piece for a while! And you guys get to see all the versions of it that the public wont...

Lookin solid? I think I could tighten up some of the proportions, but overall I think the slide is looking nice and meaty!

Hey guys, I've been sick with a cold for the last few days so I haven't been super productive, but I wanted to share this quick color test with you to hold you over until the final is done. This will be the image for the new care cards.I'm a teensy bit worried some people wont like it, mainly because she's NAKED, but sometimes I just have to keep it real at the risk of alienating people. Also if anyone truly wants the original care card instead I can just swap it in.

It's funny, I've always been scared to death of doing fanart. I think it's like, when it's my own characters, I can make as many mistakes as I need to. Fucking up someone else's character feels so wrong though! So I'm scared to even try. I should do more though! This was so fucking fun.

This is how I dress now that I live in the desert. It's partly to adjust to the weather but more than anything I just like changing up my swag from time to time. I finished it! I threw in an alternate pose. These days I usually work on a couple versions of a drawing simultaneously. Keeps me sharp, increases my drawing hours, and gives me the chance.Originally I drew her with that sly :3 face, but something about the dryer mid-sentence once seemed to fit the vibe better.

Updating Vivi's drip
I've been thinking about updating VHS's design. Normally the gag is to draw her as a little goblin scribble creature. Late night thoughts on art practice
Early on, whenever I wanted to draw character with a gun, I would get a reference image or a 3D model and trace over it. It worked, but something always felt deeply wrong about it. A lot of professionals do that because they're crunching for time or they need to do ultra precise work, but that wasn't my situation; I was relying on the models and the reference photos because I wasn't actually able to draw guns from scratch. Moped studies
I wanna draw Mitsu on a moped, but I don't want to be restricted to tracing reference images or 3D models, so I'm trying to develop intuition about their shape! I'm doing what I do with guns and just drawing lots of them, I find that's what actually works.
