the shift to public existence

hey all, hope you're doing well. and if not, i hope wellness comes to you soon. ♥if you follow me elsewhere (twitter, primarily) it's probably obvious that i've been doing much more of what i do publicly - sharing resources, streaming, and doing what i can in this slumpy period to try to keep busy, keep creating things and putting goodness into the world, and make people smile when i can. and i suppose given this patreon's existence, that's a bit of a conundrum.the long and...

"phwoa" resource/sample pack

this has more or less been my "secret sauce" since i made it, and it's not quite everything, but it's what i can share for now, and is still quite a bit for you to play with, at 1hr16m of audio. no question, this is still some of my best sound work to date, and i sincerely hope you can create some cool stuff with it.use these sounds however you'd like, with the exception of reselling them on their own or as part of a sample pack.PLEASE NOTE that this selection has not been he...

48 minutes of weird stuff from the stream

weird lightbulb+contact mic dub, microbrute breaks, and noise + atmospheric stuff. was just goofing off after a playthrough of Metroid -1 and somehow went on for almost an hour lmaodo whatever you want with whatever of this, i'm giving it a CC0 license

live in about half an hour with an album retrospective then maybe some other crap

Updated "EmTXT" OBS Streaming Companion

i updated my application to use nonspecific entry fields for you to do whatever with, an "other" option under the hardware field so it can also be used for whatever (or other hardware that isn't on the list) and a countdown timer, which may or may not always work properly.it dumps all the stuff to files in the "text" folder. just don't put it in Program Files or it won't be able to write the files properly.at this point i'm pretty happy with it and would consider ...

making the stream even better and even more fun

hey all. yeah, i'm *still* slaving away at making the stream as cool as possible. i'm having a blast, and i hope it'll be fun for y'all too when you can catch it! but for now, neat things:i've gone ahead and submitted a bunch of emotes to FrankerFaceZ (a twitch-expanding browser plugin), and those should be mostly approved in a few days. here's what i submitted:it's a whole bunch! i've configured them to spam onto the stream's video itself when they're use...

stream setup is mostly done!

i'm absurdly happy with how this all came together. it took a while to get things sorted, especially a macro input method that i was really able to work quickly with, but i was able to find something in the form of my M-Audio Keystation Mini 32:there's still some pretty hacky stuff going on insofar as how it plays back the sound queues, but it works well enough! i'm excited to get some streams going soon and hang out with y'all (and whoever) a bit.it's definitely going to be ...

update on streams and whatever the hell else

i mentioned the goal was to stream weekly, so i guess that's a thing i'll be doing here: https://www.twitch.tv/msx2plus - it'll kind of be "whenever" each week and i'll usually give 30 mins to an hour notice on here and on the discord, as well as my twitter most times, as i figure why not just do them publicly. i don't want patreon people to feel like they aren't getting the Super Secret Streams they might want, but thanks to twitch's lack of privacy options a...

setting some goals

this year i would like to:- put out one piece of physical media each month- stream every week (publicly? it is a mystery)i put together a poll to see what out of print media people want reprinted this year: https://www.strawpoll.me/17526829 if you could fill it out it would be a huge help! i know not everything is on it, and some things will end up seeing fresh new releases (vinyl etc)

been working on stream layouts!

hey all - i spent the last week really digging deep into OBS and learning how awesome a creative tool it is. i put together a selection of layouts, transitions, chat styling, etc for future streams!on that note, really i've just been wanting to do more of them finally! not necessarily always work, but at least a way to keep in touch and chat with yall

update re: previous post about "Q&A / retrospective" streams

thanks for chiming in, i'm glad to hear it might seem interesting to yallas for stream scheduling, it's a little tough for me as i prefer to be active in the evening or night lately, and because my sleep schedule isn't exactly 24 hours, so i drift a lot. because of this, the best thing i can do is post a notice a couple hours before i go live with one.i'll see what i can do about recording these, even though i greatly prefer they not be. since they will be very conversational and...

"retrospective" or "commentary" streams/Q&A?

hey all, had a bit of an idea for a kind of stream i might be able to do during the creative slump.was thinking that in each stream we could go over a couple of old releases (i'll be picking 'em out) and do commentary and Q&A regarding it. i figure as we come up to it being 10 years since the launch of the 'lapfox' name it would be interesting to revisit some older work and talk a little about the process, how i feel about it today, what my goal was then, etc.let me know what you...
