fox flux DELUXE public demo
i've been working on this a while: my wario-land-ass transformational platformerand now: here it is! a bit of it at leasti think it's good. there's a better description on the itch page that is probably not worth repeating hereand you can see further progress if you're on $4+ of course
Strawberry Jam 7
Whoa! I forgot that sometimes I link major things here. Someday I should get back into using my website with an RSS feed for that.Anyway my month-long positively horny game jam is just now starting! If you're into that kinda thing.

Monday Night Itch #1: Mystery Trap Adventure
I have begun an endeavor intended to divert more Games Money into the pockets of non-AAA-studios, and my first attempt took me in an unexpected direction.
Goodbye, Pearl
We lost another cat, so here is another record of who she was.
April prologue of sorts
Hi everyone. Here is what I've been up to for the last couple months. I'm making this one public so I don't have to try to summarize this in a tweet.Right at the end of January, I received a cease and desist letter for Lexy's Labyrinth. It has since been resolved (with no ceasing or desisting required), but I did lose some sleep over it.[cw fantasy rape mention] February began with the discovery that a familiar and amiable member of a friend group had been entertaining extremely ...
a very tiny purrl game
hello, for my spouse's birthday i made them my first attempt at a 3d game, using their purrl model and animations as the playerenjoy!PS it seems to freeze on the title screen for some people and i have no idea why, sorry, if you can give me a hint i would be very grateful
Gamedev from scratch 1: Scaffolding
hello here it is, here is part 1. it was originally going to cover collision detection but then it went into too much other stuff first, most of which is babby programmer stuff, so it's sort of a weird intermediate step instead. i hope it's ok, i'm drowsy and i feel like my brain is working at half capacityanyway the plan is to get collision stuff out in its own post within the next week, wish me luckalso hey this is the 100th blog post i have linked on this patreon apparently, neat
Lexy's Labyrinth 1.2
I hesitate to bump the absolutely meaningless version number, because there are so many rough edges, but most of those rough edges are on brand new additions and it will take me a while to smooth them all out! What's there is usable and rapidly improving, so that's good and you should look at it. Feels like this thing is finally transitioning out of "huge swaths of stuff is conspicuously missing" and into "everything basically exists, a lot of it just needs polish".I'...
Gamedev from scratch 0: Groundwork (+ two release posts)
Holy cow finally. I have rewritten all that introductory stuff so many times trying to strike the right tone, so I hope I did it! Feels like trying to thread a needle with a rocket launcher from a mile away.Hence begins this series, where I will go through everything I did to create my Star Anise PICO-8 game, diversions and all! This is basically what I was going to turn into a book, except in a form that is less mindnumbing to write and release. I hope it's entertaining and/or helpful! And a...
Lexy's Labyrinth can now load Steam levels
This is kind of a major thing I've been wanting since I started, and it's finally (more or less) working — you can load level packs directly from Steam! And since the Steam version of Chip's Challenge 1 is now free, that means you can play the original Chip's Challenge levels on any platform with a web browser. Hooray!
Lexy's Labyrinth release post
A story about how this came to be.
Rowling is dangerously wrong
Her post was even worse on the second read-through. Yikes.Very excited to find out how I'll be made to regret writing this!
Star Anise Chronicles: Oh No Wheres Twig??
I made another PICO-8 game! I polished the absolute crap out of this, jammed in an unreal amount of tiny touches, and wound up with zero bytes to spare. I hope at least one of you has done a PICO-8 thing before so you can appreciate the technical achievement!Runs in browser, is about my cat, 20~30 playtime.
Cherry Kisses coming to Steam!
Hey remember this NSFW jam game that went three weeks over the jam deadline for my own jam? Well anyway we're putting it on Steam with a bunch of new art and some other little bonuses! (The trailer is SFW, don't worry!)If you DON'T remember it, it's about running a sex shop and doing a variety of sex activities with a variety of customers. Also there's a big narrative puzzle threaded through it, but that's entirely optional. I like it a lot! Maybe you will too, if you'...
Old CSS, New CSS
whoa! i wrote a post! remember how i used to do thatthis is the biggest post on my blog (by filesize) so i hope it makes up for the past, um, entire yearit's about the evolution of css and web design, as i remember it, so it goes all over the heckin place. hope you enjoyalso nice choice of sample image, patreon, thanks
⑳ Updated the Star Anise game
I gave it a bunch of art and fixed some bugs and now I'm kind of exhausted with it! But I'm glad I spent almost a week on it, even if that wasn't quite intended. If you haven't played it yet, please enjoy!
Star Anise Chronicles: Escape from the Chamber of Despair
Well, this kinda got away from me and took four days rather than one, and still has a bunch of stuff I wish I'd been able to do to it, but such is interactive fiction I guess!Anyway here's some interactive fiction, and the first Star Anise Chronicle to actually be released! Enjoy! I'll probably do source text for $4 folks or something in the near future.(The web player seems to be afflicted by a bizarre Chrome bug that makes the text jump around while you're typing, sorry! Looks ...
⑬ flathack, v2
Hello! Sorry, I got food poisoning or something, which is one of the worst common things that can just sort of happen to your body!Despite everything, I am here with a modest upgrade to flathack, which I've decided looks better in lowercase:- Art, kindly donated by my spouse glip;- Rooms that aren't rectangles;- Slightly less repetitive worldgen overall, I hope;- Obstacles (that actually stop you this time) and keys in a progression order;- The ability to hold a key down to move like in ...
⑧ FlatHack, the roguelike with only one floor
It's not exactly deep in mechanics, either, but maybe fun for wasting a few minutes. I suspect this is another one I'll be touching up later in the month!
⑦ PICOtracker, part 2
Now with a music editor!I say "editor", but, you still can't edit anything. You can, however, play music from Under Construction. Sort of. Look it's a lot better okay.
⑤ ETERNAL DOOM III playthrough
I finally finished a megawad! Now you can enjoy a whole 23½ hours of watching me get lost and/or killed by cyberdemons.Link above is to part 1, full playlist is here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLe3hrqBmMcMI6M_Qqem9KflrSgR6An3jSAlso as of this writing, YouTube is still processing parts 3–5, but they're on Twitch and it'll take you some hours to get through parts 1 and 2 anyway.
④ PICOtracker, part 1
This was way harder than I expected! It's a port of the PICO-8 tracker to the web, but you can't actually edit anything and also several instruments/effects don't work. But, you know, other than that, feel free to browse through and play various sounds from the Under Construction soundtrack.I'm calling this a self-contained thing in the sense that "being able to play stuff" is a thing, and "being able to edit it" will be a later thing.
③ Trig function visualization
I've seen a lot of diagrams that are kind of like this over the years, but most of them are static and incomplete and a little bit ugly. Here's an interactive pretty one!
December p̶r̶o̶l̶o̶ ̶ADVENT CALENDAR
HELLOFirst of all: I have meds again! Like, ones that work. I literally picked them up on the afternoon of the 30th.And I feel amazing. Well, except that I slept badly last night and now have a headache. But after weeks of struggling to do anything, yesterday I sat down and I made that Doom text generator, from scratch, in a day! And that was cool as hell. Had an idea, did it, released it, done.So.So.Here is my idea. Which I had on the night of the 30th.I am going to make and release one thing ev...
① Doom text generator
Hello, I sat down for like ten hours and made this thing that generates text in the Doom font. I hope you enjoy, if that's the kind of thing you've been looking for all your life.Link to the actual thing: https://c.eev.ee/doom-text-generator/
Goodbye, Twigs
Sorry for the sudden recent absence. I fell into kind of a dark place, we lost one of our cats, and we got married. Here's a post about one of those things.
Particle wipe generator (release post)
I already announced the actual thing here, but this post goes into how it works, if you're interested!
April prologue
Last monthHello! I spent much of February and nearly all of March working on Cherry Kisses (nsfw), our Strawberry Jam 3 jam game that missed the deadline by a good three weeks. Oops!I had a great time working on it, though; it might be the neatest (in both senses) game we've released. It's very slightly a shame that it's a sex game and thus has a limited audience right out of the gate. But it does what I wanted incredibly well: it's a narrative game, practically a VN, but with mo...
Particle wipe generator
I wrote a bunch of code to make the heart wipe in Cherry Kisses, so I figured I'd wrap it in some nice UI and release it. Makes masks for transitions like this:Works with Ren'Py, RPG Maker, or a three-line shader. Also on not-itch, which I suppose is kind of redundant: https://c.eev.ee/particle-wipe-generator/Probably source code and a blog post soon! Ish! I'm a bit busy.
