Let's Get This Train Going!
Happy First of September! Let's just jump right into these updates!Accepting Pre-Orders for FALL / HOLIDAY CommissionsI'm never able to do holiday commissions since by the time I consider it (mid-Nov) there's no time to get them done. So I'm doing it early! If you're seriously considering a fall or holiday / Christmas commission, feel free to fill out my form here.I won't be sending you an invoice anytime soon, and probably won't start [fall commissions] until after S...
The Whole Zoot Project Lineup
This post covers (in order of appearance): Commission Cafe Update September | Eternal Flame Animatic, Projects September | Taking Preorders for Seasonal Commishes October | Zinktober Art Challenge December | Christmas ShortCafe Closing Soon! We're almost ready to move back to Zootopia-related work! The workload has been exhausting, but the improvement was worth it because it forced me to work faster and find shortcuts while preserving the quality. Above are some of the recent / finished ones...
Sidefish Commission Complete!
Aaaand we have another sheet that's done (only if Side OKs it <3). I never like tooting my own horn, but... these are getting good! I will be sticking this and other art of mine on my new DA page so that all my stuff is easier to find! Here's a free doodle page as well, because I have to find some way to breakup these 12+ hour work weekends!
Summer Bliss
Aaaaand she's done! A cute little beach pic to help you on to summer just a little longer. If Clip Studio recorded strokes like Procreate does, I'd upload a timelapse, but alas I'll need to figure something else out! This piece was submitted for the 2021 Wildehopps Calendar. I've asked not to receive any of the proceeds. Look out for this pic in the summer months!
Summer Bliss (Progress)
I picked up this piece I'd started working on earlier last month (?) and while it's looking better, I'm not quite happy with it yet. So I'll be finishing it up tonight starting around 7 or 8 tonight before getting back into the comm queue.I really want to improve my painting skills so I can try more detailed work!
Public Stream Tonite
I’ll be continuing this piece tonight around 8 EST on Picarto if any would like to swing by :). I haven’t done a detailed piece in awhile, and never on my new PC, so hopefully it goes well.🌺
Sheet Commish - 90% Done!
Somehow I managed 13 hours on today's stream... interesting how 8 hours at my boring, toxic 9-5 drain all my energy, but 13 hours drawing and I'm STILL awake 2 hours later. What is this? Thanks to those who stopped by! I'd post the actual file, but I swear the program said it was too big to save as an image file - these are screenshots XD. I really wanted these sheets to look GOOD, so I've spent a good amount of time trying to clean them up. It's been a lot of work for the pas...
Early Morning Stream
Good morning, guys!(trying hard to be awake before covfefe kicks in)I'll be streaming this morning again while I try to finish Colonel's sheet. Making great progress as you can see.Besides smaller details, we've got a hat and two more figures to do and I'm confident I can get this done by tonight if I focus. These are great practice for when I move on to my beach pic and get back to the storyboard - which I'll be working on this week. I'll be starting anytime within the n...
9PM Eastern Stream + Sheet Progress
Thanks to everyone who stopped by my afternoon stream! I'll be streaming again at 9:30PM tonite on Picarto for the night owls. Still got lots to do, but the plan is to finish this sheet by Sunday night so I can move on to Sidefish's sheet (he's getting his own Zoot sona)!Cheers!
Streaming Today at 2PM Eastern
I'll be streaming publicly on Picarto.TV where I'll be working on Patron Colonel Arbuckle's character sheet! This one will be mic-less, but I may try a mic stream privately either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Regardless, feel free to join in a few hours!
Comm Order Up! + Streaming
Thank you to Cody Vargas for coming to the cafe! His order was for portraits of his IRL bunny as both a bun-bun and a Zoot-bun and I gotta tell you guys...his IRL bun is SO CUTE! With Cas and Jasken's help, I've started to find a better process for drawing that doesn't involve me painfully tracing over my line-work and I feel SO much better drawing. So because of that, I'll be streaming soon and picking up on comms (more info below). Also, thank you all for doing the animatic poll...
Animatic Poll + Comm Progress
Happy August! First off, we're getting through these comms (and adjusting to life with coffee). This is Joseph's with a personal goal to be finished by tonight. I didn't realize hpw much work these would be compared to how much I charged, so please don't repeat the prices to non-patrons. There's no way I'm ever broadcasting to the world that I'm charging $60 for 12+ hours of work XDIt's August, and while the plan is to finish all the comms I also want to get back ...
Progress, Progress, PROGRESS
We're chugging along with these commissions, guys! We've got 10 left in the queue, 2 in the oven and 5 all finished. I hit a roadblock last week with the first sheet, but I think I found my footing. I really wish I could work a little faster, or felt more confident with my line-work.So what's after these are done? Well... I'm not sure! I have..just...WAY too many Zoot ideas and need to be stopped. I really wanna get to doing animatics like I'd started on back in May with the ...
Nick Wilde "Sketch" - Progress!
I hate drawing lineart with a burning passion. I have a ton of fun sketching, but when it's time to cleanup I will skirt around it for as long as I can. That's what I did while attempting Cas' model sheet. Draft looked good, but when it came time to "clean" it I wound up "doodling".Luckily Jasken, CasVoiceActs rode with me as I tried a new drawing method. And I gotta say.I LOVE the results. THIS is how I wanna draw!It keeps the intention of my sketches - which I think ...
Skye and Jack - Commish Cafe
Don't think I ever publicly shared feral versions of Jack and Skye before! This was a commission from Dancing Lunar Wolves on my feral take on these two - this wasn't the first time I've done this so I blazed through this commission! In Dan's headcanon, Skye has blue eyes while Jack has yellow, but the previous final I sent had reversed eye colors. I went back and forth on Jack's final color until I settled for a grayish-white that's lighter than Judy's. If Jack seems ...
Kitt Pawson - From the Commish Café
I do hope you guys are enjoying your weekends! We've got another commish-mish out the kitchen and delivered straight to Alex - thank you again, Alex! I really enjoyed drawing this girl! I'm realizing that there really is no such thing as a sketch commish with me anymore, so I'll have to redefine this particular style lol.Ain't she a beauty?I still have a ways to go, but I'm making my way through the orders. I've never had this many orders, but then again I never had a pro...
The Commish Cafe is making your orders now!
We received more orders than previously anticipated - 16 orders in the kitchen - thank you so much! Having a project manager like ClickUp has helped exponentially with the admin-side of the commission process, and having Google Forms allowed me spend MUCH less time with going back and forth on what customers wanted (something that took a week for me while living in Japan). If I can handle more commissions further down the line I’ll open again to Rodentia supporters and eventually to the public....
Commish Café Updates
Remember #JudyJuly? My iPad remembers, so I’ll be reposting a few of these for the new patrons (including a recent new one - Joseph Wilde!).Didn’t expect the swift response, but here we are! I’ll update this list so we all know where I stand, though if your request has been approved you can bet I'll be DMing you every step of the way with progress shots! I'll get to sending over rough drafts within 1-2 days, some hopefully before Monday.Until then, you all have a great Sat/ Sun!
Forever Eevee (Birthday Gift) + Timelapse | Commish Update
Today is my friend Forever Eevee’s birthday so I had to try and make something for her special day. 👏🎂🎉 Watch the (public) timelapse via the link above. I’m only able to do timelapse videos easily because I’m on the iPad, but I’m gonna find way to do the same on the pc (whenever I’m ready to finally turn it back on).Timelapse Here!———————Commish Café UpdateHappy Saturday, guys! I’m reviewing all of the forms as we speak, so expect to hear from me via Patreon D...
Commish Café | Now Open
When was the last time I opened commissions?...2019? As the title suggests, I'm open for commissions (tiny yay) - see below or click here for the Commission Order Form! The original plan was to open back in spring, but I chickened out because I'm always really nervous handling someone else's ideas. But let's give this a whirl (all prices are located in link below)! For this round, I'll be offering: Sketch portraits *NEW* Character expressions sheets *NEW* Character model sheet...
Cross Foxes
Spent some time watching fox documentaries - because that’s the kind of dork I am - while drawing. I had no idea the red fox came in so many variations. I was trying to rediscover my sketchy style so that maybe I could open SKETCH commissions soon if anyone was interested; I’d planned on opening last month but-). Once I feel comfortable though, I’d like to enter the commission waters for patrons again!
Summer Bliss - Teeny Tiny Progress
Moving along slowly but surely. I’d love for the finished piece to be line-less! I’m still trying to decide if I want to add more props in the background... maybe a cooler? Some shade from a palm tree? These are the questions that keep me up at night.Really wish Patreon would let me upload a video instead of making me GIF everything or upload to Youtube; I‘ve always really wanted to share more progress with you guys!
Summer Bliss | WIP + Timelapse
Edited to include the timelapse video: https://youtu.be/FLeuDJr5sEwHappy Saturday and Happy 4th to those who celebrate - wherever you are in the world, I hope you’re safe.I didn’t plan on doing anything today besides watching art courses (thank you Jasken 🥺), but I ended up wanting to draw! While catching up with folks I got to chat with Opti, who runs the WildeHopps calendar project, and asked if his roster still had space for the 2021Wildehopps calendar (June). Time to try new things! I...
"Nick Tries Again" + Timelapse + Updates
Hi guys, thank you so much for being patient with me. I hope you're all gearing up to SAFELY enjoy your 3-day weekends. It took me awhile, but I have some updates for you.First off, to new patronsWow, hi! I’m really happy you came to support me. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel wrong accepting monetary support when I haven’t provided a service to you last month though. And I know and understand [why] some folks would be offended if they suddenly received funds from me out of nowh...
Update
I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. I realize that you might be wondering why I’ve deactivated my accounts. The previous post didn’t reflect what was actually happening at the time, so tonight I’ll try to explain things honestly and concisely.I hadn’t been feeling good for awhile due to work, life, career shifts, family, [another] recent death, schooling - just a mixed bag of factors. I was trying to fake it till I made it, but I was exceedingly low on morale and willpower. Things p...
A Creative Switch
Hello everyone! I hope you’re doing well, hope that the weather is good where you are and hope that life is going good. I’d like to quickly let you know of a creative switch I’m making effective the end of the month. I’ve decided to cancel my Patreon account and will not charge any of you for the month of June, it’s just not for everybody. But the good news is that there are MANY talented creatives within the community that could use your support:RelaxableFurTheGorySaintYitexityTeam Vo...
Live Streaming
I'll be working on storyboards tonight so feel free to come and join me! Well, not join me, more like watch me struggle. If you missed it feel free to watch the recording - Youtube is good for saving the entire stream :).
Tiers and New Storyboard Project
First thing: I hope you're all doing ok!Second, I'd like to make a change to the tiers. Long story short, I'd like to reduce the number of tiers from 6 (which is way too many for me) down to just 3 ( the $1 and $5 and $10 tiers ). No changes would be made to these tiers and you can always donate an amount outside of the tiers if you'd like, but I'd like to reduce the number for my own piece of mind. I thought I'd make sure the higher tiers were ok with these changes. Agai...
Feral Night with Beatz
As summer begins I hope you're all taking a second to get a little fresh air. I've been spending a lot of time out in nature, which usually results in feral art. Beatz (Msitu Vita) and I did a stream on Picarto last night and she did a great job for her first public stream! Feral art only - hers from her story Wilde Intentions, mine from my own little comic/animated project Zoobound. Some people have asked me questions about the story since I haven't been very vocal about exactly wha...
Getting to You - Pg. 6
She's fiiine, everything's fiiine. That's it for the first chapter! Classes got in the way, but I'm still chugging along. Let's move on the chapter two of three!
