Usamata on the Run! (JP. & ENG. Ver)
Baby's first 6 hour stream! I thought I'd never make it here! I wouldn't have felt as comfortable if it weren't for those of you who've sent encouraging comments and joined my private streams to help me get comfortable. I'd like to stream more often so I'm gonna give that a scholar's try this week. But I'm super grateful for you guys! Here's to more art!- Qalcove
Art Stream @ The Alcove
Streaming at 4PM - this time publicly! Will still be doodling, but the theme might be Usatama. We'll see, but hope to see you guys there either way!
Late Night Doodles
And one more thing before bed - a few drawings from the comic idea I'd had Friday night. Once I settle on the dialogue I can lay it out comic book style (something else to learn)! And once the dialogue is decided, I can upload drafts of the pages. I haven't done a comic in God-knows-how-long, but I wanna try! Try everything!
Stream Results: Meo
Mahalo plenty to everyone who could stop by the stream! I'm getting very comfortable streaming again! Tonight was relatively short, we only did a few quick doodles, but Meo did get a surprise character sketch! Hope you like it Meo!We also drew a meccha kawaii sidefish, and Cas (who had a little trouble with the audio on her phone) :3.See you all tomorrow!
Art Stream!
Join me if you like for a short stream where I'll probably be doing mostly doodles! See ya if I see ya!
Eternal Flame | Concept Art - Judy Hopps After Hours Clothing
Thank you so much to everyone who was able to stop by my stream tonight! I was very nervous to press play, and even thought of just cancelling but I'm glad I didn't. It was so nice talking to you all again and just chilling together! We did a little of everything and I hope you all had fun! I'll definitely stream again privately - with a few additional private invites - on Saturday and hopefully stream publicly on Sunday! But that wouldn't be possible without you guys! You're...
Alcove Art Stream
Link change! Please help me beat back my anxiety by joining me on my first live stream with the new setup! Starting at 8:30 EST. I have no shortage of things to draw but I'm filled with stage fright right now. So let's just chill and see how things go!
STREAM TODAY. 100%.
I will stream today. No excuses. No set plan. Just gonna jump right in and draw. Maybe public, most likely private (meaning all Patrons and invited guests only). But please. Don’t let me go one more day this week without streaming. I need to beat this regressive trait back to my past where it belongs. Link will be posted here when it’s all setup!Oh, and this is yet another take on Mama Wilde - this one I call Deliah - who appears in a short comic I wrote tonight. More on that later!
EFFZF: A Few Concepts
G'morning, guys! Here are a few rough concepts of Officer Wilde from Eternal Flame featuring Zootopia's Finest, who was originally in uniform along with the others until I realized that it'd look really strange if a bunch of off-duty cops were wearing ZPA / ZPD tees. That wasn't thought about until I wrote the script.Speaking of which, check out the script attached if you'd like! I've never written one before (I'll burn through a whole pack of sticky notes with drawin...
I'm DONE.
I'm done. It took two months, several part purchases and several pc rentals, but I'm finally done - I finally have my own set-up! I can actually multi-task (le gasp) and run my animation programs. And I can actually stream it all! When I'll stream next is up the clouds since I'm still a little shy, but we're ready to hunker down and ART. Thank you to everyone for supporting me and helping me with this upgrade! And since it looks like I might get laid off soon due to 'Rona...
Eternal Flame ft. Zootopia's Finest - Progress
Boarding has started for this silly little idea I had featuring Nick - and Jason Bateman - singing "Eternal Flame" by The Bangles (now abbreviated to EFFZF thus forward)! I have a lot of work to do, and these are just the ideas I had from last week (they may be scrapped), but it's coming along!I'll stream it all once I get my new pc, but with COVID-19 halting everything across the board who knows how long it'll be until I get it. More progress later. Wash your hands!
Eternal Flame (Working Title)
So it looks like we’re gonna go with the karaoke bar - thanks to those who voted! Your Twitter counterparts also seemed to agree with you guys since the results were just slightly in favor of the karaoke space. Sorry Colonel 😭. But I still wanted to share the dresses I’d made for Judy in the event that you all voted for the wedding reception! These bridesmaids dresses look a lot better than the one I gave her a few years back!I may need to reach out to people for help with certain things ...
Eternal Flame Sung by Nick Wilde
Today I was introduced to the beauty that is Jason Bateman’s comical, yet endearing singing on YouTube by a coworker. I now MUST make a storyboard/ animatic of it. Please help me decide on a setting! Of the two below, where should Nick sing “Eternal Flame”? I’m 100% serious XDThe two settings I have in mind are at the wedding of a ZPD workmate like either Bogo or Clawhauser, or at a karaoke bar (or whereever people sing karaoke in these United States) with friends. Of course Judy will...
The Sketchbook
I'm currently in a state of limbo while I plan my next steps, but I wanted to share some of the random sketches I've created - most of feral characters. And one Broadway Beetlejuice inspired one. A lot of my time was spent learning how to animate/ storyboard, and once I tried to animate feral Nick here walking my time got taken up trying to make it work. But it was fun!Currently, I'm working on the "Little Things" revival comic/ animation, and a revival of "Ask Us" ma...
Testing, Testing - Zoobound
I played around with Storyboard Pro again and wound up making an animatic using these goobers to test. The dialogue may or may not be used moving forward, and no audio was recorded. I was gonna leave it on my hard-drive, but I figured someone might enjoy it!I constantly go back and forth on whether or not I'll write this story XD
THE ZPD - Assets + Animated Storyboard
Oh, hi March! I don't know about you but February seemed to whiz by. For those who love snow, I hope you got lots of it last month! Last month was spent testing new programs and setting new art equipment up. I forgot that getting trials meant I had a limited time to test them, so trying to learn the programs took precedence over my WileHopps pieces. But while that sat in the back, I have been working on version 4 of our first clip for The ZPD! These are a few of the assets I've created fo...
WildeHopps Month | Feb. 13th: No Words
...This one took awhile since I forced myself to draw on the PC (which has been fun, but slightly hard to use - for both the hardware and the software). But I'm glad to get it out the door!
After Hours with Qal - Private Stream at 8 EST
Hey there, are you free tomorrow night? If you are feel free to swing by my Patreon / invite-only stream where I’ll be drawing on the new set-up! I'll be testing how well I'm able to stream from the new tab as well as getting to know my new program. Get cozy, grab a spot on the couch and hangout with me in my oversized treehouse at 8pm EST!Streaming on Youtube tomorrow, 2/19 at 8PM Eastern Standard Time. Bring coffee and a few suggestions to help me break in the new guy!
Chonker Upgrades
So quite a few things have been happening in our little treehouse and I finally have a minute to share! Most everyone knows that I really want to improve my artwork and get into animation, but that I use an iPad to make 99% of all my work. So the plan has always been to take a chance and get a computer + tablet setup to give myself a shot at learning real animation. The circumstances weren’t ideal, but I’ve expedited the time it took to upgrade and have purchased a new pc (which I’m unsure...

WildeHopps Month | Feb. 8th: It Still Worked
Embarrassed, you squirmBut behind my jabs just knowThat it still worked, FluffJudy’s attempt to dine and impress her “partner” may be a huge blunder to her, but to Nick it still did the trick. Get ready, these next few will come in quick!
WildeHopps Month | Feb. 7th: First Impressions
Of course it’s tonightWhen I’m trying impressThat it all goes wrongStill alive! Sorry for the delay, I’m in the process of some exciting - and very frustrating - technical upgrades to take my art to the next level! More on that later, but for now please enjoy yet another attempt by Judy in the kitchen! Suggestion by ReaderNo31142 sans the flaming inferno! Who knows why I tend to draw Judy close to burning down the house whenever there’s a pan nearby XD.
WildeHopps Month | Feb. 6th: Getting Things Started
I know how I feelI think I know how you feelLet’s get things started! Both Judy and Nick had the same idea of what a “dinner” might be, time to make some moooves (and tap into the suggestions now that we have them alone)! Sorry for the delay, just making sure I don’t break my hand!
WildeHopps Month | Feb. 5th : Try Everything
There’s no time to wasteNow is the perfect timeTo try everythingWildeHopps Month piece number 5, where Judy takes the lead! Fell a little behind due to an RSI in my right hand. I have more at my disposal to help me now so as long as I take things slow I should be ok!
RSI Part 2
Hello! Just wanted to keep you guys in the loop since I now have the Patreon app and don’t have to rely on my laptop to communicate like last year. Long story short, I’ve developed one annoying repetitive stress injury following a project at work. I’m already handling it, but it’s made me unable to draw today. I’ll do my very best to post tomorrow and just draw slower and limitedly this month. I usually draw for 4 hours a day after work, but I’ll just cut it to however long it’ll t...
February 4th: Shy Guy
Usually charmingBut changes turn a suave foxinto a shy guyNick is still coming to terms with his feelings while Judy is embracing them just a liiiiitle bit more. He'll catch-up soon - it's a slow burn, guys!
February 3rd: Bunny Thoughts
Existing with youI just can't help but wonderCould "we" ever be?Don't mind her, it's just the inner monologue of a bunny with a crush on her goofy best friend fresh out of the Academy. Funny how a little distance can do wonders for a blossoming... friendship.Idea inspired by Colonel Arbuckle’s suggestion - thank you, Colonel! Tune in daily for more fluff!
February 1st and 2nd: Our Graduation & Next Steps
My graduationA monumental eventThat started with youWhere we first made upSeems to be the perfect placeTo start something newIdea inspired by Mach Fox’s suggestion - thank you, Mach Fox! I’ve decided to accompany these with haikus. Let’s follow WildeHopps’ journey from friendship to something special!
WildeHopps Month: 9/29 Thumbs Done!
Big thank you for all the suggestions, guys! I’m still reading through them and letting my brain conjure up images for them all, but they’re really coming together! My mind is organizing them like a story, 29 snapshots that show WildeHopps progressing from friendship to the next step. These are obviously just a few of the ideas given and they’re nowhere near done - I’ll probably wind up fully coloring a few if I get too into them - but so far we’re off to a good start! If you have more,...
Monthly Sketchbook
Hey there, patrons! I just got the Patreon app for both my phone and iPad and it’s made a huge difference in my ability to post!Big thanks to everyone who gave me ideas for Valentine’s Month - I’m considering weaving the ideas into a comic, but who knows how things will turn out in the end! Until then, feel free to take a look at this month’s sketches - a collection of ideas and scribbles based on how I felt this month and ideas I was toying with in my free time. I’ll be uploading a ne...
