JUNE PROGRESS REPORT
Hello all! I'm currently recovering from an unexpected bout of food poisoning, so if this one's especially weird, you can blame it on that. I guess all food poisoning should be unexpected. If you are expecting food poisoning, I would strongly suggest not eating whatever you're eating.WHAT'S UP ON THE PATREON?Here are the posts from this month:- editing the intro of a collab | June Process Stream - Goofy Livestream Tomorrow (and poll for next month!) - The FINAL BTS Memories | Jun...
June's Patreon Exclusive Video (and a postmortem about why I'm not uploading it to YouTube)
Surprise everyone, here's my monthly video for June! It's a Patreon exclusive!TOP 5 Tips and Tricks for Disneyland!! By Garth Darfenin!password: eggholeNormally, these posts are just bloopers/deleted scenes, but this one is the whole video! I wasn't sure if I was going to post it on my main channel when I started editing it, and sure enough, I felt the same way when I finished editing it.So why am I letting you all watch it?COMMENCE POSTMORTEM!(Go ahead and watch the video before rea...

Writing/Editing a video | May Process Livestream
We're writing WHILE we're editing! How exciting!STREAMING HERE TOMORROWAT 5:30PM PTIt's a little later than most process streams, but we'll probably be doing later streams for a while 'cause of my current schedule. This should be fun though, since you'll see what happens when I write the video based on what I can make out of the footage I have. Who knows how it'll turn out!
Hello Free Members!
Welcome to my Patreon!!!!Technically, free membership opened on May 8th, but MAMMA MIA has this week been busy. So let's just say that free membership started today, and please forgive me for not posting about it sooner.First off, I want to say thank you for even being interested in joining my Patreon! I'm super excited about having a free membership option. Mostly because I rarely use other social media these days, and considering how sporadically I post on YouTube, this will give me a ...
it's nesting season | Song, Stems
it's a song about a bird.I'm really happy with this one! Karen likes it a lot, too, which is always a major factor in whether or not I'm proud of it. So I'm extra proud of it.(I didn't mark it out, but feel free to use the Goldfinch sound in whatever you want! It's literally just a goldfinch call. But rhythmic.)
it's nesting season | BEHIND THE SCENES
i love my sweet little lesser goldfinchWATCH THE BEHIND-THE-SCENES CLIPS HEREPASSWORD: greatergoldfinchDon't have a lot of bloopers from this video since it was filmed mostly in front of a green screen with a pretty solid idea in place! But I do have a good chunk of behind-the-scenes shots that I wanted to show you all!If you're worried about the goldfinch, she's doing well (her nest is just outside my window, which is why she kept attacking my house). She no longer taps at our windo...
APRIL PROGRESS REPORT
Howdy all! Let's talk about what's been happening!WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING!See the first picture above. That's what I've been working on these past few weeks, and it should be out next week! It's a silly video in the vein of "this song is not a metaphor," but this time it's about a bird that keeps tapping at my window (or did when I was making it, I fixed it so that way she doesn't want to fight her reflection anymore).See the second picture above. That's...
making a short song again! | April Process Livestream
STARTS TOMORROW (APR. 19) AT 2PM PTAND THIS IS THE LINKI always feel like I do too many songwriting process streams, but I guess the last one was in November, so I'm letting myself do another. Also, I need to make a song. So that's what we'll be doing.
Don't Tell Your Wife About This Game | Song/Stems/Demos
Here's the full song! And of course, the very nicely exported stems from Jonah Scott, if you want to get a deeper look into how good he is at making music. Also, you can listen to the demos! They're BAD! But hey, we got to something good eventually, and that's what matters.
How I made Don't Tell Your Wife About This Game
It's here! The video is finally done!WATCH THE MAKING OF HEREpassword: paytowinI'm really happy about this one, and I hope you all like it, too. I'm gonna go on a little vacation now. Catch y'all later.
MARCH PROGRESS REPORT!
Let's talk about this busy month!WHAT DID I DOA lot of editing. Obviously, I got "you look really tired" out, but the second video I had planned to be up in March isn't up yet. But IT WILL be up on Monday.I also had to get a bunch of other stuff prepped for the next show Karen and I are pitching! It's a weird time to be doing it, considering there will most likely be a writer's strike in the coming months, but we've gotta keep pitching stuff or else executives will th...
Making some fake websites | Mar. Process Livestream
We're making a few fake websites to host my fake ads!STARTS TOMORROW AT 2 PM PTIt's for the next video which will come out on April 3rd because that's when I set the music to go live, so if it doesn't come out on April 3rd that's a big ol' whoopsie.
Snoozetown | Song/Stems/SFX
The most important things to note in this post are Crunch_SFX.wav and Robot Noises_SFX.wav. Feel free to use them without credit in whatever you want. I'm most proud of them. The robot noises are just done with my mouth and a bunch of post processing. The crunch is my actual bones. Haha jk it's just me crushing a water bottle.
you look really tired BLOOPERS
this new video is extremely stupid, and I mean that as the highest praiseBLOOPERS HEREpassword: onewayticketAs I mentioned in the last progress report, this video came about after Karen joked about how she was taking a one-way ticket to Snoozetown, and then immediately recanted after realizing that meant she'd be dead.Highly inspired by some of my favorite '90s videos (like this Yo Yo one I had on VHS) and the fact that I have a fisheye lens now, this video sure is a load of nonsense, an...
February Progress Report!
Who filmed three videos and still hasn't managed to finish/post any of them this month? That's right it's me!WHAT'S HAPPENING NOWThe photos at the top of this post are all collected from three videos I've filmed. Let's talk about why each one isn't done.Greenscreen pics 1&2: This was supposed to be my February video. It's a parody of those terrible mobile game ads that all have headlines like "Don't Tell Your Wife About This Game!!" or "Is this the...
Editing a *vertical?* video | Feb. Process Livestream
Hello all! It's another video edit stream!GOES LIVE TOMORROWAT 1PM PTThis isn't a video I'll be posting to my YouTube channel. It's a little collab post that I'm doing with Patreon's instagram, and it's the first time in maybe ever??? that I've edited a vertical video like this, so it'll be fun I think! Come see what it's like for me to do a 16:9 video, but not horizontally!
Jan. Progress Report!
January is already over! What a quick month, huh?WHAT DID I DO?It's been a busy month! Obviously, Welcome to the Neighborhood! came out, after starting it nearly 3 months ago (according to the Oct. '22 Progress Report). Sometimes you spend way too long on the graphics! And by sometimes I mean I will do that forever and never change! But it's been busy with other work, too, as Karen and I have been going a little harder on our writing stuff. It will sadly be invisible and un-talk-about...
Welcome to the Neighborhood! Song/Stems
This is a strange song, as I'm mostly just speaking in rhythm, but I like the bass line/weird noises in the background, and I hope you will, too!(Next month's vid should be coming with a much more standard song, and I'm pumped for it)
Welcome to the Neighborhood! Behind the Scenes
It's a weird, FMV-game-inspired video!WATCH THE BTS VIDEO HEREPASSWORD: goopedupWhen I started working on this video, I wanted to make it look as different as I possibly could from everything else I've made. I'm not sure if I've succeeded as well as I'd hoped, but it was a fun time trying to push the boundaries!I also got to spend a silly amount of time making documents that are only visible if you pause the video (but you can just look at them here, if you want):Anyway, I...
making fake documents for a video | Jan. Process Stream
I will not be teaching you how to forge anything in this process stream, I'm sorry to say.LIVE TOMORROWJAN 12AT 2PM PTWe'll be making some fake documents that will pop up in my FMV video that we started a few months ago! The good and bad thing about this video is that I can keep putting more weird details into it, so it's taking me a LOT longer than expected!
(Special Livestream!) NEW YEAR'S EVE'S EVE'S CELEBRATION'S PARTY!
Welcome to the very first NEW YEAR'S EVE'S EVE'S CELEBRATION'S PARTY!STARTS HERE AT 4:00PM PT!We'll be playing a bunch of games together, and eventually the night will devolve into a fantastic session of Karaoke in which I will inevitably lose my voice after screaming ABBA in the first 3 minutes! Come through whenever and leave whenever! This is your trial run for that fancy NYE party you're going to! Practice all your good jokes and party tricks! Everyone will love you!P...
MIDNIGHT GOURMAND BLOOPERS (and an end-of-year patron stream!)
i am a midnight gourmand, and you can be one, too.WATCH THE BLOOPERS HEREpassword: boyscantsaytipsHonestly surprised that the bloopers are only half as long as the full video. We filmed this four about 4 hours after I slammed an extremely large and sugary boba, and then I handed all of the footage over to Nativebirds (Jeremy), and he turned it into something astounding. It's a fun little video that I hope you enjoy during your holidays, and it was a fun little way for me to wrap up the year.O...
making a new visual style | Dec. Process Stream
We are gonna edit the weird goop video!LIVE ON MONDAY, DEC. 19 AT 1PM PTThis stream is gonna be mostly focused on the weird visual style of this video, which I'm planning to make similar to a visual novel/FMV/point-and-click video game just to add to the uncanny vibes. We'll see if we can do that!
November Progress Report!
Hello y'all! It's Progress Report Time!THE NOVEMBER VIDEO... will most likely be a December/January video, depending on when it makes sense to upload, because it sure is a strange videoI have recorded the song and filmed it all and am working through the edit (you can see the the out-of-context stills above), but I sadly couldn't get through the whole thing because of two reasons: It was Thanksgiving last week and Karen and I are traveling until Dec. 12th, so it's hard to find ti...
song making again! | Nov. Process Livestream
it's this month's process livestream!GOES LIVE TOMORROWMONDAY, NOV. 14TH @ 2PM PTI'm a little late this month due to some other projects getting in the way, but I'm hoping to turn this video around pretty quickly after making the song today!
October Progress Report!
I can't believe we're already done with OctoberWHAT HAS HAPPENED:The Hee Bee Bee Gees videos are all out and I had a chance to take a little break last week after pushing real hard for many many many weeks! I went to Disneyland and found out that I stole my idea of a Vampire/Werewolf collaboration album from the Haunted Mansion (pictured above). Disney's lawyers are currently hollering at me through my windows and slipping lawsuits through my mail slot. It's a nightmare.WHAT I...
Tragedy | Song, Stems
As was the case with AAAH!BBA, sometimes the more fun songs aren't the lead single. Anything that lets me do my worst Ray-Winstone-as-Growltiger-in-Cats-2019 impression is a hit in my books. Also anything that lets me dress up in my best Cats-not-2019-but-just-the-original-musical costume is a hit in my books. Maybe I just wanted to remake Cats.
Stayin' Alive | Song, Stems, SFX
I know what you're all here for: SFX_Screams.wav4 minutes of me screaming loudly in my little office/studio space. Feel free to use these in whatever projects you'd like. My dream is to become the next Wilhelm Scream.Oh and also please enjoy the full song. Jonah really went all out on these this year.p.s. ignore the fact that the stems are all called "StayinAilve." sometimes you mess up early on and just have to commit to it.
