Level1 News End of Year Drinking Thank You
You did this (well, the majority of you anyway). Thank you? We all had fun. It really slows us down -- information density is way down even though the density of our hosts was way up.It's just 3 hours of nonsense. That's all. But was it fun? :DAnd remember. You did this. :D
Level1 News, With Drinking
OK so it is taking ages to render the patron version because it is *3 hours* long. So if you want to wait and watch all in one go, don't watch this one. This one is only the first hour, and is th eone that'll go live at midnight for everyone else.Let's never speak of this travesty again. :DWe should post the full length one late tonight, if it's done processing, or early tomorrow.
We made it so, in this Level1 Diagnostic
So the text version is pretty simple -- The Hive light uses an Atmega AVR from Atmel -- heart of some Adruino type devices -- but our firmware can't be updated because of a lack of bootloader. No problem. We've got an STK500 from back in the day, we'll use that. Rats, can't find my DB9 adapter. No problem, I'll flash another arduino to use as an ISP because that's easier than wiring up the FTDI adapter to the STK500 or finding the DB9 null modem adapter. Then it mysteriously...
A quick behind-the-scenes drawing video
This is a drawing I did recently on the new iPad Pro; the video is my first attempt at using Procreate/iMovie to export a sped up version of the illustration process. Hopefully it's not too unwatchable lol. The drawing was prompted by a 100+ patron, who requested a drawing of us in a Fallout style-- he has the original ink drawing but I decided to refine it more here. :)Hoping to get a review of the iPad Pro up soonish as well. (Spoiler: I like it. A lot.)

Click bait!?!?Spectre and Meltdown patches MURDERING hardware?! Maybe Possibly? More likely than the bloomberg thing! This is us farting around, something different. It's probably terrible, but maybe it's funny.Launch tomorrow? Patrons get an early look at a draft. We might change it up though. Who knows!Let us know what you think, good or bad, thanks!
Mmhmm.. The News!
You're in for a fun time.
Continuing the no RG(BS) Trend...
Presenting the Linus Torvalds "Work" build. Sure Steve has the epic CoffeeRipper but for a machine that will quietly do all my work without a second thought, we present our Can o' CPUs build with subtle but topical humor and innuendo. This was made possible by you guys! So big thank you! Buying parts at retail is not fun -- but when we seek out sponsorships we're putting those sponsorships to good use. Also here's hoping that when Mr. T is back, he reaches out. I pity the fool ...

Numa Newman-Os
Anyone spot any mistakes or things that could be made clearer? I think the GTA V footage might still be missing.Did a little side by side of GTA V in Numa, UMA and UMA with process lasso sticking GTA V on the processors we know are "local" to the graphics card. It's not as fast as NUMA, but its much closer than UMA + windows lost and confused scheduler. The windows scheduler isn't as bad as it is made out to be either. In terms of windows vs linux. But that's a video for anoth...
An update!
Here’s a vloggish update for you. I *Just* got the 2990wx so I haven’t had a long time with it yet. Hope you enjoy the update. Going live this w/e!
