Content and Production Changes - Poll
🕑 Added 2023-02-15 18:24:20 +0000 UTCHey Patrons! It's been a really amazing (almost) three years working on DoubleDog Comics, and we really appreciate all the support we've gotten from you all <3.
We really love producing these comics, and they mean a lot to us! But we have realized that the amount of work we have taken on monthly (which includes another comic project and a full slate of Telegram sticker commission work) has left us working over 40 hours most weeks, and gives us no room for time off when we get sick or have other issues come up. It has also kept us from being able to explore adding more options to our Patreon (including an extra tier with an exclusive comic, voted on by Patrons) and has limited our ability to be interactive with the communities we produce comics for.
In an attempt to create a more healthy work/life balance, we are looking at options that would give us some breathing room to deal with illness and unforeseen events (and maybe even a vacation?).

These options are:
Raising prices
If we could charge more for our Patreon tiers, we could reduce the number of commissions we have to take and focus more fully on comics. This would mean that our page posting would stay the same, but the price for the base tier would go up to $10. This is a little complex as Patreon doesn't allow us to directly change the price of the tiers, and would be implemented over a few months to allow Patrons to adjust their subs to the new tiers to avoid being charged without receiving content.
Cutting back pages posted by about half
This would mean that our comics would be produced at half the rate they are currently posted at, and Patrons would receive a new page every two weeks.

We are hopeful that with one of these options, we could both have more breathing room and the ability to create a second tier that would include an exclusive, Patron-selected comic and possible other extras (streams, YCHs, etc.). Currently, we are too busy to be able to add this without giving up our personal time to pursue it.
Please vote in the poll (it will be open for a week) to let us know which option would be preferred. We will do our best to follow what is voted on!

I think keep the price the price the same, but make another tier with a higher price and upload the early preview line work for the comic. That way people with a little more money and want to see the next page quicker can.

You all put out quality work. The current "more than curious" is one of the cutest comics I've ever seen. I'd be totally okay with a price hike, because your work is worth it.
