i tihnk also before it was a single chapter snippet per POV, but the handful of recent were 2parters, which really felt like a mini-arc vs just a simple POV chappie.

I do agree a bit with the tonal shift, I did find it a tad odd that we went from a magic genius to the end goal of him being Ronny Coleman, frankly I was expecting more along the lines of him using deep focus and learning to dodge or whatever, but I'm not against it, I'd like to see where it goes because your right, at a certain point his body does need to catch up. However, while I do genuinely enjoy the other pov chapters, maybe it's been slowly introduced or maybe it's just for this arc, but it does feel like were drowning in them all of a sudden, resulting in a much slower progression overall. Again, not opposed, I've read wheel of time, just seems like a large increase in world building, But I also view good alternate povs as good world building. And it's hard to do, your doing well there. It has been a few months since I got caught up, so it may just be me not seeing a gradual shift.

Can you expand on the tonal shift? I’m not fully understanding what you mean with that and perhaps it would help improving the story.

I spent a tenner to read the story up to date, and here's my conclusion: It seems like the author is attempting to weave multiple stories into one, resulting in strong tonal shifts between arcs that give me whiplash. Joey's latest arc feels like wish fulfillment. He punishes dumb, racist bullies through a magical, montage-style bulk training to attain a Herculean body to prove them wrong. This approach feels juvenile and Mary Sue-ish, as the story now suddenly relies on endless escalation of threats. While Joey is already the most competent character in the story due to his intelligence, the latest arc takes him to new levels, which I find uninteresting and basic. The story had a far humbler but more intriguing beginning. I know many people will probably not share this view, but I wanted to get it out here before I drop the story.
