So despite the rapid thrumming of his heartbeat, he’d entered the lobby of the Royal York. No idea where the lounge or bar that they were supposed to meet at was, but the place had enough foot traffic that he could lose himself in the crowd. He did two circuits of the lobby, looking around like he was lost, then on his second lap checking his watch and looking out windows like he was pretending someone was supposed to meet him and they were late. By the second lap, he had his bearings, and could see where the lounge was. Problem was, it was open. Not just one door, but multiple points of exit and entry. So now he played the game of waiting. Extending his act: checking his watch and reading his phone now. Wandering around, face down to his phone’s screen, and occasionally looking up to see if his party had arrived yet. But no party was coming. And the only thing he looked at on his phone screen was the throbbing dot indicating the proximity of his wife’s phone. These things were inexact at close distance, but their dots practically overlapped.

So I agree with a lot of what Chinookfan wrote. I think Josh already knows she’s cheating but wants to be convinced she’s not. Kimmy will learn to love manipulating him and slowly (please) become Devlin’s protege in tormenting poor Joshi - rubbing his face in it while denying it’s happening. Josh ineffectively argues with Kimmy about her behavior and then meekly acquiesces when she uses sex to placate him. Guilt, lust, a touch of contempt and a dash of cruelty for Kimmy. Angst, anger, self contempt and helpless hard-ons for Josh. I admit I don’t get the texting and where that’s leading. As for the long run, I’d like to posit a different ending than most of us expect. Maybe the entire series is just focusing on a time of changes and Devlin (however dominant he may be now) is ultimately just a temporary presence who leads Josh and Kimmy to a different life? Maybe Devlin is just Kimmy’s first hurtful semi-secret affair of many more to come. That’s a tough, angst filled life for Josh which would likely crush him but it is probably closer to real life than 99.9% of cuckold stories. Maybe she even has Devlin’s kid and Josh lacks the guts to ask for the test. If you want a really dark ending, this one is harsher, and maybe more real, than her leaving Josh for Devlin. Anyway, really enjoying this series and eager to see where it goes. I can’t see a realistic happy ending for this one though.

I’m game for the contest how granular do you want to go though? For now I’ll stick with big picture stuff. I believe the next stage of the book will be Kimmy fully accepting Devlin as an ongoing thing (I think initially after this she is still going to be lying to herself that she can quit Devlin at any time). Whilst Kimmy is going on that journey Josh continues on his journey of proving what he already assumes, with the help of Devlin (and perhaps who ever texted Josh before if it wasn’t Devlin {I’m 50/50 on who sent the texts, as this is the type of plot twist I can see KT throwing in there}).I expect as Kimmy gets further and further into her journey she will become more submissive with Devlin and more dominant with Josh. To the point when it’s revealed that Devlin is still humiliating Josh that Kimmy blames Josh more for allowing it than she blames Devlin for doing it. Ultimately this makes Kimmy loose whatever remains respect she has left for Josh and she turns up the humiliation to 11, until finally Josh hits his breaking point. As for how it ends I’m still of the mind Kimmy and a Josh are better off separate. Josh can find the family focused lady he’s more compatible with, and Kimmy gets poached by a bigger import company in Toronto once she makes a name for herself in helping get those goods through customs, as well as helping Devlin land some big deals. In my head I’m picturing many books to come, but that will depend on how much KT enjoys writing about Kimmy... To me this series so far has been the first 4-5 season of Game of Thrones, now that we are here my concern is that the story gets rushed to conclusion like GOT did.

KT has noted the latest Separate Schools hasn't sold as well. I would content that the distinction between romance and vanilla erotica is largely academic (seriously, read some of these romance novels?). I would also contend that KT's books are sadly more relegated to less popular erotica ghettos not because of the amount they deal with sexuality but because they deal with a specific sub-genre (infidelity, cuckold stuff) that rubs the majority of people the wrong way.

Kimmy is going to enjoy toying with Josh a whole lot more than any “loving” wife should. Devlin is loving how he has teed up Kimmy and he will not let off the accelerator until he drives a big wedge into Josh and Kimmy’s perfect marriage. RCH your scenario isn’t bad, however I think the theme of Kimmy being bad and getting away with it will continue so I would imagine Kimmy and Josh interact in some way before the night is over.. I’d be shocked if Kimmy doesn’t pull another “smell my hair” type moment tonight. I’m not certain Josh tries something sexual, but if he was looking for clues that would be his best bet. A verbal confrontation will get Josh nowhere and ultimately backfire (he’d have to admit he was at the hotel and as soon as he does Kimmy would flip it to him being insecure.) At least with the sexual stuff you either force her to turn you down (doesn’t sound like she does that often, so it’s another alarm bell ringing if she does) or you get the opportunity to inspect the “crime scene”. That being said it’ll probably be two hours after the intercourse once kimmy gets home (I’m assuming she’d take her time putting herself back together at the hotel before she heads home), so to me the best scenario is she doesn’t turn down Josh sexually it’s just Kimmy’s body has returned to normal enough on the outside that Josh won’t be able to confirm his suspicions.

If KT put as much time on a saucy romance novel it would sell many more copies. Soon as you cross the line into erotica suddenly it doesn't have the readership. I'm thinking Josh is so very confused right now that he won't know what to do. I don't know what he's going to do. I know if I was faced with the identical situation, I'd be waiting by her car in the parking garage, Devlin be damned. Who's to say Kimmy isn't too exhausted to leave? What if she falls asleep--the ultimate fuck-up? About guilt... one thing I've been doing with this story is trying to think out of the box when speculating. Right now, Kimmy is in the toughest position she's ever been in with Josh. Does she go home? Does she lie if she does go home? Does she have a bug-out kit? Does she come home smelling too fresh? What about her wrists? Are there marks? Then again, maybe Kimmy didn't fuck up that badly at all. This is a cuckold story, according to KT. Maybe she goes home, faces the music and takes on Josh head on. "Yeah, I've been fucked. I never knew what I've been missing until tonight." Maybe Josh throws her out. He can afford the place on his own. Interesting.

I see him getting home late enough that she is sound asleep in her boring pajamas. Josh will crawl into bed after snooping in the dirty clothes hamper. Finding nothing he'll be more confused.

CSH, it's more of a story with erotic content. You throw in a murder or some other plot complication and this could be a mystery/drama/romance. You would have to clean up some of the sex language. You don't have to use vulgar words to make some thing sexy and hot. If done well it can be hotter.

RCH that would be interesting if Kimmy beat him home. I can’t see a world where Josh would confront Kimmy verbally about what happened. He just spent the whole evening concerned he’d get caught being there when he wasn’t supposed to, and at the end he rightfully realizes that the business meeting could be happening some place in the hotel other than the lounge. That being said he might try and start something sexually with her, like he did after the trampoline park.

JL23 Kimmy's guilt level is at most going to hit DEFCON 5-4. She has showed very little guilt with her passed activities. She has a sense of entitlement that she uses to push on through her guilt. Kimmy uses her feminine wiles to pacify Josh's suspicions and her guilt. Josh may become more compliant if the sex with Kimmy is more exciting. I don't think Kimmy will cut her wrists or stop her sex with Devlin.

Yeah gut wrenching is a perfect way to put it...especially cause as a reader we are fully aware that his worst fears are true. Does he confront Kimmy, I’m guessing no. It would be interesting if he does, and how she responds. Now that the “climax” is out of the way (or 14 “climaxes”...I lost count), I’m interested to see how much guilt is there. Not enough to stop I think, but if she does love Josh as she says (and that the rest of Devlin she feels is a tool besides his large well...tool) then I have to think she’ll be wracked with guilt over what she’s doing to Josh. Her response in the next chapter will be key to watch.

I had as well, but KT has since changed the naming convention and made comments about not wanting to be beholden to that. Still I can hope. There's certainly ground enough to cover, in my opinion. Can't speak for anyone else, but I have appetite for much darker than we've seen.

Yes, it'll be interesting as usual where KT will take us. Kimmy done the deed but we don't know if this is the finish for the evening or will she be up for round two? I think she is done for the night she'll head for home after cleaning up. It would be interesting if she beats Josh home as he wanders the streets of downtown. Glaucon is right that now it be easier for Kimmy to cheat. A few of you are wishing Kimmy getting pregnant but I don't see that happening now. I think if it did she would get rid of it! She is too into her career to have a kid now. Later maybe it'll happen, much later.

I’m looking forward to reading what KT has in-store for Kimmy, Devlin and Josh.. I do gotta say I’m looking forward to some plot twists.

She will maybe recognize the truth of how Devlin treated him but it just won’t stop her now. It’s clear Devlin wants her in on the game with Josh and it will be extra hot if he gets her to admit to herself that she wants to play.

This is the real start of things, in a lot of ways. After the first time it'll be easier for Kimmy, suddenly she's missing nights with Josh, important nights even, maybe their anniversary, his birthday. Maybe she's caring just a little bit less when she hears about even worse bullying Devlin committed. Maybe she feels bad about these stories when she hears them but still bends over for Devlin whenever he wants. I especially like the thesis statement of heat for the whole series in the last paragraph.
