Agreed Sitri! To me what sets KT apart from other erotic writers that I’ve come across is her ability and willingness to develop the characters and world as well as provide the hot parts. So despite 4 books, I think, at least as the action is concerned, we are still closer to the beginning than the end. Perhaps the pace picks up so we might be closer to the end as far as books go, but there is still a lot more to explore with these characters and I can’t wait to see what paths KT takes us down.

I'm back! everything went smoothly. Good for another 100K miles! I had quad heart bypass 18 year ago. Part of the bypasses were done with arteries then two were done with veins. Well the ones with veins last usually 15 years. My made it to 18 years(should have bought the extended warranty)! Well I was very luckily to have the best possible out come and they were able to put stints in my original blocked arteries as the bypasses had failed 100%. It's not a manner of truth as much as if Devlin was in the tent and that conversation took place then Devlin has it available to use when he needs it to manipulate the Waters. I wonder if Devlin’s role will be as the ultimate puppet master of both Kimmy and Josh, getting them to do what he wants without the other knowing. With Kimmy he’ll continue to encourage her to push and humiliate Josh but without telling him she’s really doing things. And to continue to tease Josh without confirming things are actually happening with Kimmy. I don’t think either Kimmy or Josh can deal with the full reality of what’s going on...they both want to play within the fantasy. Both are afraid of losing each other if the full truth comes out. At this point, I don’t think Devlin’s motivation is to ruin Josh’s life or steal Kimmy away. I think he just wants to fuck Kimmy (to prove that he can, to make himself feel like a big man, to rub Josh’s nose in it). Josh and Kimmy’s marriage is the equivalent of a sex toy to Devlin – it’s something that helps him get off that he doesn’t treat with any respect and doesn’t care if his actions ruin. I don’t think his ultimate goal is to ruin Josh’s life any more than the goal of someone eating a steak is to ruin a cow’s life. I think it’s more a consequence of what he wants that Devlin doesn’t really care about. I think that if Kimmy fucking Devlin ruins her marriage with Josh and they have a messy divorce over it, or if through long work they eventually work things out, or they go the standard KT route and eventually have a consensual cuckold thing going on, either way Devlin always has these events over Josh (and Kimmy too) and he’d care more about that than the actual consequence to their marital status.

Anyone got any out of the box theories on Devlin’s motivations here.. We’ve heard the obvious ones, he wants to ruin Josh’s life, he wants to steal Kimmy away or both.. But I’m curious if anyone has something else. I’m not sure how plausible it is but I have a theory this story is like a happier version of Chelsea hates Libby (in so far as a Chelsea and Libby’s relationship goes). In this case Chelsea is Amy and Finn is Devlin and Libby is Kimmy. Where as The original Chelsea was looking to hurt Libby, this Chelsea (Amy) is actually trying to help a friend she sees as wasting her talents staying home and making baskets. Additionally, Amy also knows Devlin needs help at work after he told her about Mels fuck up and how he can’t seem to find a good lawyer. Furthermore Amy thinks Josh doesn’t deserve Kimmy and so Amy devises a plan to have Devlin seduce Kimmy in order to show Kimmy what she’s missing. Ultimately Devlin goes along with it cause he trusts Amy’s business acumen and he’s otherwise unattached and bored.. When he shows up to the party he realizes Kimmy is married to Josh (his old high school punching bag) and can’t believe his luck.. The plan to get Josh drunk works like a charm, but Kimmy’s other meddling friends stop him from having sex with Kimmy. As Devlin thinks someone is going to tell Josh what happened he figured he’d bully Josh one last time. However, the next morning goes better than planned and Devlin realizes Kimmy and Josh left without anyone telling Josh what happened. Devlin decides to text a Kimmy to meet up an assess the situation and the rest is history.. Ultimately Amy is the one who texted Josh about what Kimmy and Devlin did in the apartment and where Devlin left the card as she wants Josh to find out so Josh will leave Kimmy. Devlin on the other hand wants to keep his and Kimmy’s relationship a secret and is happy belittling Josh to Kimmy and humiliating Josh indirectly by making Kimmy do things like go home dirty etc.

Oh and one last thing. I’m willing to bet that talk of the humiliation of Josh will move front and center from now on when Devlin and Kimmy have sex. Given what that talk just did to them both, we can expect it to be a big part of their sexual activities from here on out.

I get the sense there is some traumatic sexualized event in there that Josh is terrified to reveal to Kimmy because he feels it will make her lose respect for him. It could just be the dick size stuff but I suspect there’s more to it than that. I’m gonna go back and look through those early parts again. To me if Devlin kept fucking with Josh like he did in the tent and the texts (if that was him), then I’d agree with you for sure. When I started reading this story I though Devlin’s motivation was to fuck over Josh and humiliate him.
