Both of them collapsed opposite each other heaving breath, Kimmy on the sink, Devlin against the wall. His shorts fell around his ankles and his cock bobbed with his heartbeat, shining with the wet.
“I liked the lube,” she panted, then chuckled.
“Yeah,” he said, running his hair back from his face.

He came closer to her, lusty look in his eyes still, and unbuttoned her shirt. She turned her chin up and he kissed her slowly.

She got a hand between them to guide him back. “I told you I’m here with Josh this weekend.”
“Fucking bring him. I’ll buy us dinner and you can meet me in the bathroom and I’ll come on your face while Josh is spooning ice cream back at the table.”
She chuckled and he joined in.
“This week,” she said. “Take me out this week. You ever go to Harbor 60?”
“Sure.”
“When was the last time you were there?”
“I don’t know. Six months, maybe. A year ago . . . I don’t remember. Why?”
“Was it good?”
“The best. That’s where you want to go, we’ll go there.”
“What did you have?”
“Don’t remember. Steak.”
She made a wily face at him. “I want a whole Porterhouse.”
“I love that you have appetites. And that I can satisfy them,” he said, circling the pad of his thumb on her erect nipple.
She covered her nipple over with the cup of her bra. “Don’t forget: You told me this was a twice a week thing, just sex. Now you’re coming all this way to be with me . . .?”
“I have to get my twice-a-week in,” he said, smiling. “Tell me you’re not happy to see me. It sure felt like it.” His eyes glanced down to her bared pussy.
“I liked the surprise, but I told you I wanted to be alone with Josh.”
“So boring,” he said and she laughed. “Let me take you guys out for dinner tonight. For real.” Now he showed her a pleading child’s face, bowing his eyebrows and putting his hands on her waist.
“That’s crazy,” she said, snuffling. “I’m happy to see you here. I’m flattered you flew down for me. Though I’m pretty sure you have something else going on and you’re just lighting me up.”
“A hundred percent to fuck you, Kimmy, cross my heart.”
“I’m flattered,” she said, looking up to him, narrowing her eyes. He kissed her again and she let him. “Now can you give me a minute so I can clean up?”
He told her to take her time, giving her his confident look before pulling up his pants. His cock still hung out the fly and he took a moment to wipe it with paper towel before tucking it back in where its half-hard shape pressed out the inside of his pant leg. She caught herself admiring him for a moment, then laughed, leaning on the counter still, playing the pendant of her necklace over her lower lip. He touched her chin as he passed, and she told him she’d just be a minute as he went to the door.
“I’m going to be outside,” he said, then shut the door.
She laughed into her palms and then tidied her hair, letting out a long slow exhale. That was crazy. Devlin was crazy.
From her purse she withdrew her phone and woke it up. She sent a text to Amy.
Kimmy: the ‘thing’ finally happened
Then she went to the sink and snatched paper towels from the dispenser, wiping between her legs, pulling new sheets to wipe her brow and under her arms. Amy texted her back.
Amy: I can’t believe it
She nudged the phone to read the screen, chewed her cheek for a second. Responded.
Kimmy: I can’t believe it either
Then she leaned with both hands on the counter, watching for Amy’s response.
Amy: I’m proud of you
Proud of her for what? For cheating on Josh?
Amy would say it was because Kimmy deserved to have sex with Devlin—just to see what it was like. How good it was. That whole thing from high school that she’d been presented but rejected, and Amy persisted after all these years that she was right in the first place. And maybe she was. Because now that she’d started, it certainly seemed that she couldn’t stop. At one point even swearing she wouldn’t do it, then explaining away her own bad behavior afterward.
But it should have been done before she married Josh.
Kimmy: thank you
Amy: you’re welcome
Amy: tell me more
Kimmy heaved off the counter, looked at herself in the mirror. Untied her hair. She couldn’t tidy it enough without starting all over. It hung down in curtains on either side of her face. She got close to the mirror and looked in her eyes. Wiggled her nose around, made pouting lips. She picked up her phone, texted.
Kimmy: it was all right
She set the phone down, turned both taps on at the sink and touched her fingers underneath until the water got lukewarm. Put both sets of fingers under the stream then dabbled wet around her eyes, pressing on her eyebrows and finding the acupressure points.
Amy: what do you mean it was all right? Did something go wrong?
She pulled off paper towel, pushed away the beginnings of a headache while drying over her eyes and her brow.
Kimmy: no it just wasn’t what I expected
Now she shut off the hot water lever, ran the water full blast cold.
Amy: what was it like then? Wasn’t it good?
She cupped handfuls of cold water then dipped her face into her palms, rubbing at her cheeks, eyes, and along her jaw. Pulled off more sheets of paper, dried her face, then looked at her reflection.
Kimmy: it was just all right. It wasn’t bad or it wasn’t really good
Amy: it wasn’t good?
She buttoned up her shirt, watching her face in the mirror. Turned then and sat on the counter, picked up her phone.
Kimmy: it was weird. Uncomfortable. Like I said, it was all right, but it wasn’t the best thing that ever happened to me
Amy: I’m surprised
Kimmy: so was I
Amy: wasn’t he good to you
Kimmy: he was great. It was actually kind of nice. But I just thought it would be better
Amy: I’m so surprised to hear that
Kimmy: I was expecting a lot more
Now she looked sideways and watched her reflection, chewing her cheek again. It really was a shame this wasn’t easier, because she did like spending time with Devlin. Like spending time with him a lot. Liked fucking him, too. These were lies she was telling to Amy. Lies, because she feared a suspicion she had. Truth was, now that she’d started with Devlin she didn’t want to stop. Truth also was, she loved Josh till the end of time. Truth was, Josh had a weird sliver in his brain sex compartment that he was embarrassed of. But he shouldn’t be. Or maybe he should. She just didn’t want to judge. But she did know that the things she was really doing with his high school nemesis turned him on in his fantasies.
Amy: why don’t you call me?
Kimmy: can’t right now. I’m at a work thing. I’m in Grand Cayman
Amy: look at you — I’m so jealous. Perks of working with Devlin?
How did she know it had anything to do with Devlin? Maybe just a good guess . . .

She closed her phone, slipped it into her purse. Then, in front of the mirror, she buttoned her shirt right up, pulled back her hair and re-tied it into a tidy style. Leaned close to the mirror, patted at her cheeks, then stood straight and eyed herself somberly. It was a terrible thing she was going to do.
With her panties straightened and her skirt fixed, she grabbed her purse and slung it over her shoulder. Pulled open the door, went into the lobby. There were sounds down the hall from Quinton Rathburn’s office. The man had been here the whole time she was fucking Devlin. She crossed to the front door, and slipped outside. Devlin was standing out in the sunshine, talking on his phone. Doing that pose again, one hand on his hip. He looked good from behind; he had a great body. She didn’t want to stop touching it. Didn’t want to stop being with him. He turned, sensing her coming, said something in his phone then closed off the call.
“You put yourself back together, Chang.”
“Thanks for waiting.”
“What else am I going to do?” he said, looking around at the view, hands turned up to receive sunshine in his palms. “I fucking love it here.”
“And I thought you came all this way just for me.”
“You know that I did. I wanted to to fuck you in my favorite place,” he said, put a hand on her waist, slipped it to the small of her back and pulled her close. “And no, I don’t mean your ass.”
She couldn’t help laughing despite the heavy feeling she had. She moved into him, pressed her cheek against the hard muscle of his chest.
“What do you want to do now?” he said, his voice low and near her ear.
“I have to go back to Josh.”
“Let me take you guys out for dinner tonight.”
“Where would you take us?” she said, pushing back from him and looking up.
“I bet they’ve got a great steak here in Grand Cayman. Let me take you guys out for steak and whiskey.”
“That’s just for me.”
“Then whatever you want.”
“Why do you want to see me with Josh?”
“I just want to see you. You say the word and it’s just you and me out tonight. Make that happen and I’ll be even happier.”
“Do you want Josh to see me with you?” She watched as the smile pulled to one side, and his eyes narrowed.
He said, “What would he think?”
“You want to hurt him?”
“Not at all, Kimmy,” he said, practically rolling his eyes. “That’s not it at all.”
She took a deep breath, looked back at the parking lot behind Devlin, saw her BMW parked. “How did you get here?”
“That’s my car over there. The Mercedes.” Parked on the opposite side of the lot was a red Mercedes convertible.
She said, “I’ll tell you what—maybe there’s something we could do . . .”

Thing is, Devlin has always said Kimmy could do better. Better job, he's proven. Better sex, proven. Better life? Still up in the air. Kimmy keeps saying she loves Josh, but it's growing thin and Devlin clearly doesn't give a rat's ass about how she thinks about Josh or her time with Josh. At this point, we really don't know what's going on except with the subterfuge. It does SEEM like Kimmy is trying to assert herself, but I read later in the thread something I've been saying all the while: Devlin wants to ruin Kimmy's marriage. He's a sleaze with a big dick. Kimmy, we think is starting to wake up, but we're probably wrong. Flattery is still new to Kimmy, maybe she'll see through it, maybe not. She's got her agenda, Devlin has his, and Josh? Well, he wears stupid T-Shirts. Get him a Dream Theater T-Shirt... naa... too cool. Get him a Winger T-Shirt--it's more his speed. Or get Devlin a T-Shirt, "Buttholio".

The whole issue of control is interesting. She’s obviously planning on using Devlin to tease Josh. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see it slip out of her control and go much farther than she intends. We have seen she can’t really control Devlin.

Yeah I think actually including all the contradictory tendencies in the characters is the key to this whole story working. I also like that we have all the ingredients of the traditional cuckold recipe but all separated and not yet stewed as it were and we can see how each one affects the other.

We're kind of wondering where this is going to go as Kimmy starts to assert herself more with Devlin. Yeah, I know you're expecting her to assert herself with Josh, but what surprises us is her attempts to assert herself with Devlin.

This saga has the potential to supplant my all-time favorite, Cherry Blossoms. But I have this lingering paranoia that Josh is going to go total marshmallow and accept Kimmy’s lying and cheating. Of course this would take us down a well-worn path and KT always seems to find a twist. I will keep the faith and hope you do too KT.

I'm now seeing a clear angle where Amy wants Kimmy to let loose with Devlin, and I get the genuine feeling that Devlin just wants to get with Kimmy and he doesnt really care about messing with Josh, it's only an afterthought. The cliffhanger makes me think Kimmy wants to instigate a little teasing shenanigans between the three of them, hence why she invites Devlin with her. Either way, I'm still here KT whether you write at all in September or not, just get better!
