Dave the bully part is not erotic in my book too. I never read the books but did see the movie "Clan of the Cave Bear" the son of the leader fails because he is a billy not a leader. Alexander the Great was a leader and men followed his all over the known world. There is a difference between toughness and bully. Devlin is a bully. It would be interesting to see the three of them in a survival situation where brain over brawn was more of a factor. Devlin strikes me as the type that would fold as soon as he couldn't use his physical advantage to win the day.

Not sure about her being alpha as much as simply being smarter than both Devlin and Josh. It's brilliant writing but I (Dave) can't get by the bully aspect. As I see it, leaders aren't bullies. Leaders inspire people to do better, either by example, or by who they are. Granted, those characteristics do not fit into most erotic stories, however in one long series we've read, they did--perfectly. I won't mention the series here but might in KT's blog. What Devlin does have in regard to Kimmy is animal attraction, and it's mutual. Of course, there are other reasons for Devlin's actions and behavior, but as a person, he's deeply flawed, and maybe that's the brilliance of KT's writing.

Yeah something like that giving a perk to the highest Patreon level would be good. I’d previously mentioned the possibility of alternate pathways on some stories as a way to explore what works and what doesn’t. Exploratory chapters of some other series might work as well. So much of this is dependent on the creative artistic process of the author that it would by its nature be highly idiosyncratic and might not be appropriate at all to the way KT works.

I’m thinking most chapters she’s already written so that it can fill in the gap while she gets ahead on this one. It really is incredible to me to see from the bird's eye view we're allowed being able to see from both character's perspective, just how dangerous Kimmy is. She is absolutely loving this entire game, and needs Josh to play along to make it worth her while. But more than that, you can tell she knows Josh inside and out and has some level of seeing things from his perspective, or else her attempts at persuasion would just be, "Come on, get your ass down there, Josh!" Instead, Kimmy can pinpoint exactly what is holding Josh back and embolden him. It's scary considering how much she knows what she's done is definitely going to hurt Josh, and then when you combine all that with what is happening here at the Cayman's it's another level of devilish that Kimmy has achieved. I'm here for it. Josh is getting absolutely smashed today, he is constantly going back to the beach house to get another drink ... and again Kimmy and/or Josh keep going back and forth between places. It's kind of funny how little amount of time all three of them can stay in one place in this whole part of the book.

Yes, this is why I'm a KT fan. The nuance involved in the plots twists. Is this going to blowup in Kimmy's face or is it going to go her way is she the alpha or is Devlin? Devlin is always the wildcard, while he is the shell of an alpha there is something underlying an unrevealed flaw or weakness. True alphas don't need to torment the betas. Alpha lead and the betas follow. Devlin is flawed in this way he is not a good leader there is a weakness that we got a few glimpses of but it's still in the murkiness of the past. Kimmy all alpha, if she is leading you would follow. Yes, she has a weakness for Devlin's physical persona but he is mentally/personality flawed that precludes him ever being a successful leader. He would fail because no one would be willing to die for his cause he is too selfish. IMHO Kimmy will rule in the end. I don't see her as evil just goal driven. It's like she is running a successful enterprise (Josh and her) and now she wants to expand by franchising on her success!
