Man, all that stuff about the fugue form is going to have to go into a KT book at some point. I'm not a musician so this is such a great analysis for me. Now that I do, I’m more aware of the character arcs. Some of those were conscious, some came clearer the further into the story we all went. Ultimately, I was thinking just yesterday, Maggie would become Carol and Max would become his dad. Given how his dad made jokes about the Beckers after the Miltons met them for dinner in Manhattan, how likely a pairing would Carol Becker and Max’s dad be? (Picture Lucy Liu at her sternest and a gentile Eugene Levy) Maggie’s almost-fling with Jay Carmichael was the spark of Carol within her. Not getting what she wanted and something within her seeking to rectify it because she is better than everyone else and deserves such things.
