KT Morrison

Yes, she does. And I don't think Chey is off the hook yet...

Oh come on, KT. You just want me to eat crow and apologize to Chey for beating her up so much! And... she does deserve an apology. I just can't shake my disgruntlement with her over her past actions. I end up reading too much into everything she does... and everything she doesn't do, too. This scene shows how committed she is to making this special for Byron. Although i do feel like it also shows she wasn't exactly truthful with Cody earlier. This is probably mostly about Byron, but she's still carrying a heavy dose of guilt around with her that she wants to try to absolve. The actions of all three of them here are pretty stellar, in their own way. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up, KT. That particular issue was gnawing at me because i couldn't quite grasp the reasonings behind it and dumped all the blame on Chey as a result. The simplest reason, as it often is, was the right one. Carla likes to play mental games.

Chey has no idea about the shop-vac lure, and that Carla tried to lure Byron away. It'll come clearer later, but I just wanted to smooth that over for you. Carla acted on her own, trying to lure Byron to naughtiness just for amusement (knowing Chey wouldn't be mad, anyway, since a date was set).

What a chapter, KT. I feel like i (once again) owe Chey an apology, though i feel like my prior stance in regards to her actions is somewhat warranted given it appears she did actual sabotage that potential event with Carla and Byron, just not intentionally. Though it's very possible she had the "setup" issue so firmly in mind that she didn't want Byron doing anything until they figured that out (ala Scarlet's telling Sully to keep it in his pants until they talked). Chey's intention that this should be kept secret right up until the moment somewhat confuses me as Carla taking Byron away while holding his hand would seem to an outside observer to be a blatantly obvious "moment" to speak up. While i think Chey is somewhat right that this setup is Carla's attempt to dominate her and the situation, it's a lot more complicated, and multifaceted, than that. Carla was clearly disgruntled with Chey for not discussing with Byron "the plan" prior to their "titty job" scene. When she asked Byron if he and Chey had talked and he said "no", her facial expressions showed she was clearly unhappy about it. Carla and Chey aren't on the same page (surprise surprise). So i think this setup was also meant to be somewhat of a punishment as well. Forcing Chey to say "yes" in front of everyone to prepping Byron for Carla, and then having to do it. Chey could be right that Carla didn't want the prep to turn into an intimate moment for her and Byron where the "sacrifice" was more about her love for him than Carla's desire to rock Byron's world. Of course, there's also the aspect of prepping Lily for being more open to these sorts of experiences as well. Something Chey obviously doesn't know about, and even discounted when Byron obviously sussed it out. Ultimately, for me, the most intriguing thing here? Carla setup a scenario to help teach Chey to be just like her. How do i mean that? Look at Chey not only NOT being jealous of the situation, she's actively directing Lily to touch Byron, directing Byron in how he should respond, and generally controlling the entire scenario, including letting Byron know he's being prepped for "sacrifice". And not only is she totally okay with it, she's enjoying it. Just like Carla would. Oh how much would that burn Chey up to know that Carla's got her right where she wants her?
