It’s a pretty easy way to separate them for a while, a la Nia and Geoff in their final book. Josh goes to Rome, maybe starts learning there’s a life for him without Kimmy. Maybe Samara and/or Gabrielle go with him, and he has his “Geoff in the hotel room with the hot agent” storyline. Kimmy stays in Toronto, works for Devlin and starts to see how empty that life now feels. Then, have something that brings them back together at the end, say a little human Kimmy is going to produce in about 6 months? There’s still everything about the money and whether she gets in trouble for it, but if we still have 50 chapters or so, there doesn’t feel like much more story to tell with their relationship as is. Or even if they officially get back together. So breaking them up for an extended period seems the most likely scenario to me.

I've read it at least twice, it is a great beautifully written book. I know I read the last half again on top of that, because I wanted there to be a clearer redemption and reconciliation for the wife and not for her sake alone... She had atrocious taste in the bull she picked and the humiliation game with Pete became unadulterated sadism, and needless cruelty. The heroic transformation Pete underwent was invigorating... compensating to some extent for the ill tempered ungrateful reaction to what was Jess's reluctant rescue from a kind of one-woman-at-a-time cult. What pissed me off most is it seemed like she had every intention of trading her children in for a sleek shiny knob. And until the easter egg, I felt that her return to her family might well be only for her short term convenience. She was lucky to have married 'a real man.' And have kids who hopefully didn't ever learn how badly their mother behaved. Despite the resentment Pete's loving sister felt towards her...

Was thinking about rereading "Learning Lessons". Because I have only read it once. Read half of the first chapter then stopped. I think compared to alot of KT stories and novels which I reread a bunch of times and love. Learning Lessons is too painful and feels like my skin is being flayed off (LOL!) But I do think it helped put KT on the map for me. And that's where I will give it credit. Also it's written beautifully!

I'm right there with you, Kat. That's what the HEA lover in me wants to see, but that really hasn't been who Kimmy is for most of the series. So the question is, did what happened to Josh really have that profound of an impact on her to use this moment to secure a modicum of freedom and retribution for Josh, where she then turns towards giving Josh the proof he desires to show she gets it, or does she wallow in the debauchery Devlin and Amy are tempting her with. And all this supposes that Josh is okay with what she's doing. It will be the height of painful irony if she did do the mic drop I mentioned, going home to tell Josh she's done with that asshole, here's the proof I ruined him, only to find Josh gone and a note that he saw where she was at and he's done with waiting, papers are incoming. I'd hate that, but it would make a lot of sense and Kimmy has certainly earned it.

This is fabulous! Kimmy is in control and gives in to her dark(er) side as Mistress. At this point I have to believe that she knows more than does Devlin about Sr. and the legal/money matters. She is too confident, compared to how she was just a few hours (story time) ago. OTOH, we all still want/need another good coupling or throupling before we all go our separate ways. Every chapter leaves me wanting more. It would be something if Kimmy was taping this with her phone. Even if she sleeps with Devlin, in her mind she probably thinks it would turn Josh on. In her mind, it would also absolve her for sins, by showing him how she got revenge on them for him. A part of me thought that the Devlin replica was in the drawer when she went to pull out the bottle of lube. It would be fitting if she had Amy use it on Devlin. Devlin is already submitting quite a bit to her. I’m sure she could find a way to push it further, and love doing it.

This is some classic KT "ambiguity of motive" dialogue. How many of this is Kimmy submitting to her dark impulses and enjoying this, and how of much of this is her actually getting a measure of revenge on both Devlin and Amy. Revenge on Amy by showing her how much Devlin will submit to her, and revenge on Devlin by revealing to someone else how much he's willing to submit. If she's surreptitiously recording this somehow again, I could see her attempting to use this as some kind of additional evidence to Josh of her devotion to him, and her ability to humiliate his enemies. But clearly, she's enjoying every second of it for herself, not Josh. She still talks of Devlin's body and sexual prowess glowingly, and admits to their remaining connection, even if somewhat unwanted on her part now. So I can't see her giving this up, even for Josh. She wants it too much. As always, it comes back to whether Josh can bring himself to wanting this with her somehow, I can't see it but there's more chapters to read.

I thought Kimmy was going to use the video of Devlin in panties to taunt Amy, make her jealous and mess up their little partnership of secrets. Maybe that was her plan. But now... Now she gets to do it live. She gets to show Amy who's boss. And while she might be jealous, I don't even know if Amy would mind at the end of it, as long as Kimmy promises to keep spanking her. This is just as much to show Devlin who's in control as it is Amy. So the question is... were we right from our speculation from the last chapter? Is Kimmy lost in the lust this control gives her... and will she join them... or will she twist them up until they're begging for it, compromise them completely... and then mic drop on her way out. Last chapter I thought no way she doesn't fuck Devlin after having some painful fun at Amy's expense. Now that the panties are out of the pocket... I'm not so sure. Though there's a billion ways this could all go tits up. Show us the vision, KT. We're not quite as desperate as Amy. I think.
