A really beautiful end to the story. Seriously wonderful stuff in here. Some sadness, some happiness. Didn't quite go the way i thought it would, but that's fine. Surprises are nice. You really ended this with aplomb. Kudos!

There really is nothing like a well-crafted end to a great story. Excellent work with this one! All of your Reflections mention that you weren't sure how the dual time periods would be received, but just like every part of this story, it provides a wonderful way to compare and contrast Evelyn's actions during two points in her life that, as you say, are very much in conversation with one another. Really amazing stuff! I can't wait to see where your writing takes us all next!
