We’re all so distressed and unsure about what is happening and how to respond. And knowing that it’s an intentional “shock and awe” strategy to demoralize and confuse us doesn’t always help you because it is an effective strategy for a reason. I think the key is properly utilizing our energy and contextual clarity to its best effect (when we have it) by talking/connecting with people, sharing important information and resources, and getting organized in the ways that you can. And then, at the times we don’t have that energy or clarity and we feel the doom hanging over us, unplug and take care of yourself as best you can. Connect with friends and loved ones, be alone, do drugs, read books, have sex, watch movies, cuddle, etc, whatever you need! Because we need to be in this for a while and we need to make sure we’re not depleted. Resistance is more important than ever but community and our mental health are also just as important.

I very much relate to the overall experience of this moment that you guys described, and I’m sure it’s common to many. Feeling a more pronounced appreciation for your friends and loved ones, alternating between feelings of despondence and chaotic anger seeing the news, being confused about the state of motivated mass resistance and opposition to what’s happening and about the reactions or lack of reactions of the people around you, etc.
