My Blender Sketch Process | 10 Min Breakdown (FREEBIE!)
🕑 Added 2025-06-25 23:56:15 +0000 UTC
I just got back from Japan and made my first Blender sketch in months (and it shows lol). I was originally going to turn this into a YouTube video, but I have since a better idea for my Youtube. So here’s a full 10-minute, unfiltered look at my real process as I try to remember how to use Blender after a long break.
In this video:
Blocking out a full figure with zero symmetry
Talking through pose, shapes, and how I reference loosely
Grease Pencil face drawing (and the glitches that come with it 😩)
Hair, headbands, rim light struggles, and trying to texture with forgotten UV knowledge
Where I fumbled and what I’d do better next time
A cozy, chill voiceover with little rambles and insights along the way
This is my first big freebie on Patreon - so if you like this kind of content, I’ve got even more in the paid tiers, like full tutorials, extended videos, and monthly critique spots. Plus we’ve got a great Discord server too!
Let me know if you’d want more casual sketch breakdowns like this - and feel free to poke around the rest of my Patreon if you want to support future projects 💛

I love seeing your Blender process! I hardly ever see people take such a sketchy and graphical approach to Blender, so getting some behind the scenes was really nice. I’d love to see more like this!

This is so awesome. If you do another one in the future, could you also break down what you do in the compositor?
Jackie Droujko
You should!
