Contrary to expectations, after the voice fell, not many people turned to the Sword Peak's booth.
At first, Xing Yun thought that the image of the Sword Peak's disciples being too useless was too deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, even if mortals saw it, they would not want to join them. But when he saw the Sword Peak disciples' relatively serious appearance, he began to think that maybe it was because of something else.
After thinking for a while, he finally determined that the problem was with him.
It seemed like he had said that he would show them around later the test here.
Ji Chang's testing work was proceeding in an orderly manner. It was said to be a test, but in fact, they just needed to find out if the person was suitable for a particular path of practice, and whether they had a high or low aptitude.
In order to improve efficiency, each mountain peak had received a complete set of equipment, including the formation magic for identification, a jade seal for preliminary identification of qualifications, and an honest, gullible, diligent, and hardworking, inner disciple who could withstand the pressure.
Yes, inner disciples were also included.
Xing Yun had to admit that this kind of recruitment method was far more efficient than the conventional method used by the sects in other xianxia novels.
Of course, Xing Yun also noticed that even if the efficiency was high, the checking process speed may vary between disciples.
The fastest was those oddly muscular mad scientists in the Refining Peak. God knows what those refining masters, who wore big glasses and unfitting white coats, did to the jade seal. Their jade seal's speed was actually three times faster than those of other booths.
But what made Xing Yun curious the most was the material of their white coats.
It was obvious that the coats were stretched to their limit by their oddly muscular bodies.
But why didn't they break?
With this three times faster speed, the disciples of Refining Peak had already finished checking all the people queuing at their booth and began to do their own stuff.
Either they continued their unfinished refining work on the spot, or were holding a needle-like charcoal pen in their hands to write reports, or started to exercise their muscles.
Thanks to Xing Yun, the booth of the Formless Peak was slightly better than Fairy Maiden Peak and the Sword Peak.
Probably Wuling had also thought of this, so she stopped fighting with Leng YueYao and went back to her booth to try to get more people to join her peak. Then Xing Yun also saw Leng YueYao return with black eyes.
Seeing that Leng Yueyao didn't use True Vital Energy to remove the dark circles around her eyes, Xing Yun couldn't help but clap her hands encouragingly.
"Oh- actually, you look pretty good on the smoky makeup too."
Although she didn't quite understand what smokey makeup was, Leng Yueyao could still guess that Xing Yun was talking about her black eyes.
She stomped her feet with a blank face, which was a sign that she was not at all calm at all.
"It is the sect rules. If a fight breaks the sect rules, the people who are involved in the fight cannot use True Vital Energy to treat skin injuries."
Tilted his head to think for a while, Xing Yun decided to skip this topic.
"Alright then, I have already helped your peak, if there is nothing else, I will go back soon."
"Little..."
"Little is unnecessary."
"...Martial Granduncle, the admission assembly will last about ten days, so..."
"Not a chance," Xing Yun said flatly, "How did the Formless Peak recruit people before?"
The one who answered for her was Jian Xing who had been waiting on the side for a while.
"They just sit in the booth cross-legged meditating, waiting for the disciple to come to them."
“……”
"And that is not the worst. There was once, a disciple even used powerful formation magic to keep people from getting near her. Originally, I thought that that disciple must have some kind of anthrophobia, but..."
The high-frequency stomping indicated that the expressionless girl was full of anger and embarrassment in her mind at this time.
"Could you not mention that time."
"No," Jian Xing laughed, rubbing her hands and turning her head towards Xing Yun, "Martial Granduncle, I will tell you, that disciple is called Leng Yueyao. She would even blush when talking to strangers... Wait! If you have something to say, then just say it, there is no need for violence. ”
Leng Yueyao actually did this kind of thing in the past? This made Xing Yun very curious about her original personality.
Since this core disciple provided such an interesting dark history, then Xing Yun would naturally reward her.
"For the next nine days, it will depend on my mood. But for now, there are already some people that are not suitable for the formless peak, you can take them with you."
"Thank you, Martial Granduncle."
Although Shang Qing Sect was a relatively strict sect, the overall atmosphere was still quite harmonious and approachable.
The rules for the outdoor disciples were quite loose, and they were perfectly represented by the behavior of those disciples. So it left a quite good impression on many people's minds.
After all, no one liked a lifeless atmosphere, and everyone was willing to practice in a sect that would make them comfortable.
With these feelings, the people who came to the Shang Qing Sect to seek the path of cultivation were no longer that nervous.
Part 5
As a "mortal", it was normal to have fear and longing for the "immortals" who could easily fly into the sky and perform magic. After all, if these "immortals" wanted to take their lives, it would be as easy as killing an ant.
If this description was not easy to understand, then it could be explained in an even simpler example.
——Mortals were ordinary humans, and the immortals were fully armed Gundams.
Although this kind of metaphor didn't quite fit a Xianxia story, the actual feeling was not very different, and it was necessary to add that those Gundams could go berserker at any moment, and they definitely would not stop before their energy was completely drained.
Of course, this kind of recruiting method, which was different from all sects, was deliberately done by Shang Qing Sect.
Although doing so would make them lose some face, it could also effectively eliminate the misunderstanding of the concept of "immortals" in the hearts of these new disciples. It would help those disciples better understand what a cultivator was, and avoid the initial inferiority and fear, and other factors that may cause Internal Demon in the future.
Judging from the small details that other sects either dismissed or didn't think of, Shang Qing Sect really made a lot of effort to take care of all the disciples.
Xing Yun was not clear about these. He still thought that this was the unique style of the Shang Qing Sect. Since everyone was like this, he wouldn't act strangely and then caused Yun Xia to annoy him.
But he didn't dislike this kind of atmosphere either.
There were not many suitable disciples for the Formless Peak. There were only a few dozen of them out of nearly a thousand.
After finishing today's work, Ji Chang moved his somewhat stiff body, and shouted towards those "unqualified" people.
"The Formless Peak's test will end today. Those who are not qualified, please follow... Martial Granduncle to continue to find their own fairy destiny."
Xing Yun knew why he would have a sudden pause. He definitely wanted to say Little Martial Granduncle.
Anyway, Xing Yun then told Jian Xing to lead everyone to the sword peak's recruitment booth, while he himself temporarily left.
The departure of Xing Yun was not surprising to everyone. But everyone felt a little bit disappointed.
"Hey, this Little Martial Granduncle of Shang Qing Sect... seems to have a good temper?"
"Shhh-- Can you be careful? Don't you know that she doesn't like to be called little!"
"Yeah, you'd better not offend the elders of the sect on the first day you entered the Shang Qing Sect."
"Speaking of which, that elder is so young."
"Probably it's because of the special cultivation method?"
"Who groped my butt! ”
"I don't know if that elder is one of the Sword Peak's peak leaders..."
……
There seemed to be a strange scream amongst all the talks, but it was not important. The important thing was that many people in this crowd already wanted to join Xing Yun's mountain peak.
Some were because of Xing Yun's beauty, and others were because of the good temperament of Xing Yun. Anyway, after the crowd gradually dispersed, many people began to seek information about Xing Yun.
Xing Yun did not reveal his name, but his image was clear enough.
——The senior who was not tall, as cute as a little girl, with two long ponytails.
When asked by this description, the disciples who knew Xing Yun showed a very weird look. It was an expression of wanting to laugh but not daring to laugh.
They wanted to laugh because if this description reached Xing Yun's ears, he would definitely want to find those who had used this description and whoop their asses. They didn't dare to laugh was because... God knows if they laughed out, someone would tell Xing Yun about it.
Especially those people that they didn't get along with. They were not scared of having a fight with them, but what they were scared of the most was being beaten up by Xing Yun and Yun Xia together...
If those two fairies came, the whole mountain would not be in peace.
At this time, Xing Yun still didn't know that he had left such an impression in everyone's mind.
Now he was busy preparing the temporary dormitories for those disciples who had already been recruited.
The disciples who were supposed to do these jobs were all tied up and hung upside down on the branches of the tree outside by him.
Everyone’s mouths were blocked by Xing Yun’s socks. Don’t ask where Xing Yun got so many socks from or why he didn’t use their own socks. Anyway, there were a few creeps who became particularly excited after hearing that those were the socks that were once worn by Xing Yun.
Although they were excited, they could still remember Xing Yun's warning clearly. If they dared to indie themselves, there would be a huge consequence.
Oh by the way, one of the creeps was the guy called Zhang ErMing. Yes, it was the guy whose crotch was kicked by Xing Yun several times.
The rest of them were pretty normal, but they were still hesitant as to whether they should protest or not.
If they protested, they were worried that they would not be able to bear the consequence. But if they didn't protest, they would not be able to finish the mission the fifteen supreme elder gave them.
In the end, there were still two people who protested no matter how Xing Yun whipped them.
"Martial Granduncle! Have mercy. If you have done all of our work, then we will not be able to get any reward!" One of the disciples rushed over and knelt on the ground with a bang, and the movement even caused the ground to crack, which startled Xing Yun.
Looking at the name badge, he was from Sword Peak.
"Besides, it's not appropriate for someone like you to do these chores. You are the Martial Granduncle, how can you lay the sheets for the new disciples!"
"Do you think I want to?" Xing Yun got angry when he mentioned it. He glanced at the disciple next to him, "What about you? What is your reason?"
"Martial Granduncle, I really can't stand the sheets you laid out. It really lacks professionalism and artistic sense. Please stop torturing me, go to the tree, and relax for a while..."
Xing Yun: "..."
It was just a sheet, was it necessary to mention artistic sense! ？
"Martial Granduncle, please ignore him, he has OCD."
"You have OCD, your whole family has OCD!"
"I am your elder brother! Your biological elder brother! "
Welp, it turned out to be siblings.
"Fine, you can untie yourself too," as Xing Yun said, the disciples who were tied up by him broke free of the rope one after another, "I'll explain to the Fifteenth Martial Uncle, you can leave now."
He then calmly looked somewhere in the sky, and raised his middle finger in his heart.
Chapter 2 The workers behind the scenes worked very hard Part 1
Even though Xing Yun was the elder in the sect, those disciples did not leave as he requested.
Regardless of what they were thinking, in the end, Xing Yun used a sword to scare away those disobedient brats.
After he vented the pent-up resentment caused by Yun Xia asking him to make beds for those new disciples on those people, he hummed an unknown little song and continued to work.
Xing Yun could vaguely guess why the female hooligan wanted him to do these things. But when he confirmed that speculation with his own eyes that night, he felt very complicated.
"You are the first batch of qualified prospective disciples enrolled this time. No matter for what reason you want to be a cultivator, you are the most active batch of this year. Therefore, our youngest elder, the Fairy of Heavenly tribulation, the person who is blessed by the stars, the idol of many cultivators around the world, Xing Yun, your Martial Granduncle decided to reward you personally. Can you see the temporary dormitory behind me? Everything in it is prepared for you by this Martial Granduncle."
With the long sword in front of her, Jian Xing at this time did not have the sloppiness that she normally had. It was replaced with the arrogance and confidence that a core disciple should have.
Even with her formal outfit and well-groomed single hair bun, she did not look bad.
"Be grateful when choosing your own room later. This reward is what you deserve."
After that, Jian Xing drew out the long sword and stepped aside.
Behind her, a fairy who seemed to be at the same age as Jian Xing pushed up the glasses on the bridge of her nose.
"Oh! Line up here to get the dormitory keys in groups of two! Your daily necessities are all in the room. If the clothes don’t fit, please put them in the memo in the room, and the corresponding staff will contact you for replacement. The rest of the sect requirements are written in the manual, so remember to keep it in mind during these days, otherwise..."
Pushing up the glasses again, the reflection from the lenses made every prospective disciple present shudder.
"...don't blame me if you are dead."
Xing Yun originally squatted in the distance, clutching his chest and hitting the tree with his forehead to relieve his embarrassment.
.
After all, Jian Xing's speech was really too embarrassing. Xing Yun had even decided not to go out to see people for the next three years.
Then Xing Yun noticed that the hooligan fairy was watching him.
"Why would the Fifteenth Martial Uncle..."
"Yo? You finally recovered? "Yun Xia held a Spiritual Concentrating Wood in her mouth, like a bad eldest sister who was smoking a cigarette.
"Recover my ass! I just want to ask why would the fifteenth martial uncle appear here? ..."
"You are really dumb sometimes."
Yun Xia flicked his forehead through the air, causing Xing Yun to fall backward.
"Ouch..."
"Do you think that Yun Yun's performance would make people think that she is a Supreme Elder? The reason why she showed up here is also for the people who genuinely want to join the sect. Who knows what kind of people are hiding amongst them."
Yun Xia said unconcernedly.
"Then……"
"Oh, you want to ask about stuttering? She would only stammer only when she saw me, and now she is in her normal state. "
.
Sure enough, this was the problem caused by this female hooligan!
As expected of Yun Xia. Xing Yun now labeled her a "grievously sinful woman".
——Actually it was more appropriate to use "the root of all evil" to describe me.
"Anyway, it is time to leave now, if you keep staying here, you will only be more embarrassed."
"……what?"
"Go back to sleep early, tomorrow morning, I have a new job for you to do."
Hearing this, Xing Yun suddenly felt a chill flowing down her spine.
"Why do you just stand here? Go! "
….
When the sunlight shot into the Xing Yun boudoir the next morning, Yun Xia's voice also rammed in from outside.
A voice comparable to loud noise not only came in, but also knocked the door off the door frame.
"Little Girl? Little Girl! Hey! Where are you!"
Looking around for a while, and finding no trace of Xing Yun, Yun Xia immediately lifted the kitchen knife from her waist.
A faint glow surfaced on the treasure-level kitchen knife, then Yun Xia slashed the knife once. After that, the door of the cabinet that was locked with ten locks and four levels of restriction fields slowly opened and revealed everything inside.
"Tsk, it's all washed." Yun Xia said with a slightly uncomfortable voice when she picked up one and smelled it.
"Of course, they will be washed! Don't you wash your clothes! ?" Xing Yun poked out half of his head from behind the door panel that had been stuck onto the wall.
After hearing the words, Yun Xia quickly hid his underwear inside his arms.
"Oh, so you are here. I thought you were abducted by someone. I was so anxious."
"Are you not ashamed of saying this?"
