'Is that... really Eugene...???'
The second daughter of the Orléans Grand Duke family, Jeanne d'Arc de Sel Orléans, looked on with disbelieving eyes.
The day after Eugene Schneider returned,
She had opened the shower room door and
Doubted whether the naked man before her was truly Eugene Schneider himself.
Now, two days after that experience,
Jeanne was once again shooting a suspicious gaze
As she looked at Eugene who had appeared before her dressed in formal attire.
However, the look in her eyes now
Showed a significant difference in nuance compared to her first suspicious glance.
'He's so handsome and good-looking...'
The man before her eyes,
Was disgustingly handsome and good-looking.
'Just wearing clean clothes and slightly brushing back his hair... how can he look so different...?'
After returning from the pilgrim's path, Eugene's hair had become somewhat bushy.
With his eyes half-covered,
That nerdy look was the romantic virtue of a pilgrim.
So to properly see Eugene's eyes,
One had to approach him closely like Charlotte did during their first reunion meeting.
Of course, since Jeanne was also close to him during their shower room conversation,
She was able to recognize him despite his drastically changed appearance by sufficiently perceiving his gaze and eyes.
However, at that time, Jeanne was so captivated by the visual impact of Eugene's muscular naked body.
As a result, she couldn't appreciate Eugene Schneider's eyes as a natural beauty beneath the bushy hair.
In other words, with absolutely no expectations regarding Eugene's face,
Jeanne now witnessed his full visual setup.
With his hair casually brushed back
And dressed in formal attire befitting a grand noble,
Eugene Schneider's appearance highlighted
His impressive 190cm height and
The broad frame of his Pacific Ocean-like shoulders.
On that foundation, Eugene's clean-cut face was revealed,
Putting the finishing touch on the perfect physical canvas.
To express it in detail, it was the 21-year-old sculpted beauty of Eugene Schneider,
With bold lines added to his originally frail pretty-boy face.
It could be described as the beauty of a slightly decadent sculpted handsome man.
"Is something wrong? Jeanne, your expression is terrible. Hmm... the formal attire seems to fit well though."
Fidget! Fidget! Fidget!
However, Eugene Schneider, with an uncertain expression,
Adjusted his formal attire here and there as if tidying it.
The reason was that Jeanne, who had been waiting for him with her arms crossed as if about to make a cold assessment,
Had suddenly closed her mouth.
From Eugene's perspective, with no absolute setting time,
He had come out after giving up on having enough time for self-evaluation and only creating a manual-level hairstyle.
So he thought perhaps his current appearance
Was far from adequate to represent at such an important bazaar.
Just as Eugene's hand, wanting to pay more attention to his visual appearance, was about to reach for his hair,
"Ah, no, it's fine... I think I got dizzy for a moment because I'm too worried about the bazaar. That's why."
Swish!
Jeanne emerged from her daze and extended her right hand forward to prevent Eugene from touching his hair.
'It's perfect, why touch it more... don't ruin the artwork, you fool...'
Though she managed her expression and made up an incredible excuse,
Jeanne was still struggling from being intoxicated by Eugene's handsome charm to the point where her entire body had frozen.
"Really? That's a relief then."
Smile!
Since Eugene Schneider had no way of knowing Jeanne's state of mind,
He simply smiled brightly at her words that everything was fine.
"L-let's prepare to leave, we don't have time."
Swish...!!
Jeanne desperately avoided looking at Eugene Schneider, who was flashing a killer smile full of maddening handsomeness.
She looked like she was forcibly pulling her dress, turning her body and head away, as if in a great hurry.
This could be called a truly uncharacteristic reaction from her.
By Eugene Schneider's assessment,
Jeanne is the type whose true feelings are easily revealed, regardless of her intentions.
Furthermore, when she foolishly reveals her true feelings,
Jeanne's daily routine was to desperately try to cover it up with exaggeration, ending up trolling and creating a miserable finale.
In contrast, pretending to be innocent like a nine-tailed fox as she was doing now is far beyond her usual behavioral algorithm.
'Why is this happening...!! This isn't right...!! There's no need for my face to get so red...!!!'
Flush...!!
But it was understandable enough.
From Jeanne's subconscious perspective,
It was an explosive emotion she had never felt before, so she couldn't help it.
Jeanne d'Arc de Sel Orléans's cheeks were flushed like radishes,
As the smile of the sculptured decadent handsome Eugene Schneider struck her heart in a way she had never felt before,
This marriageable virgin young lady's heart was pumping blood like crazy.
'He's just Eugene...! That Eugene who used to play around with me like a brother...!'
Jeanne d'Arc de Sel Orléans treasured Eugene Schneider.
It was truly wonderful how he filled her sense of deficiency.
That's why she wanted to keep him by her side for life.
Though not related by blood,
And somewhat of a flawed older sister, she sincerely wanted to play the role of an older sister and rely on each other.
The pretty boy Eugene Schneider, who was shorter and frailer than Jeanne herself, a woman,
Had warmly stimulated her ordinary maternal and protective instincts.
Yet now she couldn't get her head straight at the sight of Eugene transformed into a manly sculpted handsome man.
In other words, the feelings she had as an older sister,
That was undoubtedly what Jeanne had thought was her true heart toward Eugene, without a grain of doubt.
However, faced with the sudden surge of romantic fluttering that seemed to deny those long-held feelings,
Even the somewhat principled, boisterous Jeanne lacked the energy to operate her usual algorithm.
Clop, clop, clop, clop,
The day had grown dark, and the Orléans family carriage heading to the bazaar venue had departed.
When social gatherings led by the Orléans family take place, if the imperial family attends, the event is held at the main mansion.
On the other hand, when only nobles participate, it is held at the Orléans villa, located at a certain distance away.
The carriage Eugene and Jeanne were riding in was now heading to that villa.
Glance...! Glance...!
Jeanne d'Arc de Sel Orléans timidly glanced at Eugene Schneider sitting beside her.
"What is it, why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face? You've been staring like that for a while."
Eugene, who had been looking out the window on the opposite side, felt Jeanne's gaze and responded.
However, despite Jeanne's behavior being quite different from usual,
Eugene also had a rather tense face, as it was a social venue he was attending after a considerable amount of time had passed.
"N-no, it's not that. I just think your styled hair suits you surprisingly well... so you should style it like that normally too..."
Jeanne, whose mental state seemed to have recovered significantly compared to earlier,
Directly mentioned Eugene's handsomeness.
"Really? Hmm... yet you used to get upset saying my height looked taller when I styled my hair, and you'd press it down with your hands."
Eugene Schneider responded indifferently to Jeanne's words.
When they were young, the height difference between Eugene and Jeanne was consistently about 3-4cm.
Jeanne, who always wanted Eugene to be shorter than her,
Would insist it didn't suit him when he styled or brushed back his hair, claiming it made him look similar in height to her.
Eugene had already understood the true meaning behind Jeanne's boisterous behavior back then,
Which is why he was responding so indifferently and with a pointed tone.
"Well, now you're much taller than me anyway."
Swish...!
Jeanne, whose petty heart was nakedly exposed,
Turned her head slightly toward the window as if avoiding Eugene's gaze, seemingly embarrassed.
"But, you still remember what I said back then? It was something I said just once about 10 years ago."
Glance...!
Soon after, she made a subtly interested expression
And once again furtively looked at Eugene Schneider.
Eugene Schneider remembering her insignificant words from long ago,
Since Jeanne was in a state of confusion due to romantic feelings,
She couldn't help but be moved even more.
"What's the big deal, I've always been good at remembering other things you've said too. That's why you always asked me when you needed to confirm something."
What was clearly a special moment for Jeanne, who was in an emotional state,
Was merely an extension of his usual self from Eugene's perspective.
So he responded as if it were nothing significant.
"D-did I?"
Swish...!
Jeanne's head, feeling embarrassed again, reflexively turned toward the window.
"Jeanne, that dress suits you well too. So wear it often. Your chest is large and beautifully shaped, which makes it suit you even better."
Eugene, feeling good from receiving Jeanne's compliment,
Complimented her figure in the noble young lady-like dress she was wearing after a long time, as if returning the favor.
"P-pervert! Why suddenly talk about my chest!"
Swish...!!
Jeanne covered her voluptuous cleavage with her silk-gloved hand, blushing and showing a sharp reaction as if startled.
"..."
However, Eugene made an expression as if he found it even more absurd.
"Why ask why I'm talking about your chest? Last year when I turned 20, you sent letters boasting about your chest growth to someone piously performing the pilgrim's path."
Eugene had justification for this.
Hadn't Eugene been performing the pilgrim's path while receiving letter attacks from the Orléans mother and daughters?
All four mother and daughters composed their letter contents according to their individual personalities,
And among them, Jeanne had sent quite a few lewd stories.
The reason Jeanne had given was
That her younger brother Eugene Schneider had now become an adult, so he needed sex education to sufficiently understand what women are.
Then she continuously sent lewd stories, saying it was right for his older sister to teach him.
'At that time, my past life memories of living until 30 had just surfaced, making it even more absurd. A barely 20-year-old kid trying to give sex education to a man who knows everything. She really knew nothing.'
Recalling that time, Eugene's head shook slightly in disbelief.
'Ah shit... that's right... Jeanne d'Arc... this crazy woman...'
Enchanted by Eugene Schneider's decadent sculpted handsome charm,
Jeanne, whose mind was severely confused,
Had forgotten her own past misdeeds.
Then, as those obscene acts became vividly recalled in front of Eugene's pointing out,
The perverted virgin Jeanne d'Arc de Sel Orléans became dumbfounded like someone who had swallowed honey and condemned her past self.
"By the way, how should I introduce myself? Would it be appropriate to introduce myself as Eugene de Sel Orléans?"
Outside the window, the scenery approaching the villa, the venue for the bazaar, began to appear.
Eugene then mentioned a more essential topic.
"Ah! Right. I didn't talk about that in advance."
"We don't usually pay attention to it, so it's understandable to forget."
At Eugene's words, Jeanne showed a reaction as if she had just realized something,
And Eugene expressed nonchalance with a somewhat serious expression, unlike before.
Eugene had entered the Orléans family as Antoine's adopted son,
But still used his father's surname.
'If you don't feel comfortable, there's no need to use the same surname as us. What's important is not the surname but our feelings for each other. Just as I sincerely considered your father, Ulysses Schneider, as family.'
It was a measure taken by Antoine de Sel Orléans to prevent identity confusion
For Eugene, who was emotionally unstable after losing his father.
The idea was to make a decision when Eugene would formally stand before people.
But even after that, Eugene experienced a tumultuous growth period,
And as a result, had no occasion to stand before people.
However, within the Orléans family, as Antoine had said,
There were no particular problems created by the difference between the names Schneider and Orléans,
So it had become fixed in its current form as time accumulated.
"While our family may not mind at all, it might be completely different for outsiders. Of course, I don't know how many people still retain the impression from that time, since father worked hard to manage the aftermath."
Jeanne carefully expressed her thoughts.
Though he had lived only within the Orléans family for 12 years,
Today Eugene would finally stand before people.
Although difficult to assert, Eugene thought that mentioning his father's surname, Schneider,
Might ruin the atmosphere of the Grand Duchess's important bazaar.
That's why Eugene told Jeanne that he should introduce himself as Eugene de Sel Orléans.
"Um, I'm asking just in case... is it okay for you to talk about this now...?"
After that, Jeanne, with a rather calm expression,
Asked Eugene Schneider, who was listening to her words,
With a considerably worried feeling,
And as if probing, with a sense that Eugene's current calmness was unexpected.
"I need to let it go now. I've become an adult too."
Eugene responded with a candid voice.
'Is this also the help of my past life memories? That I can make such an attempt.'
Eugene Schneider himself also
Finds his current self strange yet somewhat admirable.
In his childhood, those 12 years when he was so passive due to trauma,
But now he feels he has definitely taken a step forward.
"From the image of our father who died as a Sword Demon."
Eugene Schneider's father, Ulysses Schneider,
Once revered as the Sword Saint,
Ended his life as a Sword Demon who massacred innocent people.
