At first, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. But no matter how many times I shook my head and looked again, it was him.
He looks at me and gives a sly smile.
What's the intention behind that smile? Could it be...? Is he here to save me?
Yes. He must be here to save me.
Since I first met him, he's always saved me.
From a miserable orphanage, from a life destined to be a livestock...
He offered me a chance to become an actress and escape all that.
He even gave me a recommendation letter for Seoul University, which can only be used once in the industry. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to take the entrance exam.
And now, he appears as a participant in this auction where I'm being sold.
Yes. He believes I didn't take drugs.
I thought he had abandoned me because he didn't show up during the two months of the trial.
There was no support from my agency, and I had to pay for my lawyer myself.
But now, he's trying to buy me.
Yes. He must have thought I would lose the trial because women are at a disadvantage compared to men.
I give him a subtle nod, and he responds with an okay sign.
A glimmer of hope appears in my desperate situation. Blood starts flowing through my body again, and I feel strength all over.
Hero. He's my hero. The one who saves me whenever I'm in trouble.
[Announcement: The auction for Soo-rim will start soon. Please complete your entry.]
The auction is about to begin. Until now, it's been terrifying.
But with my hero here, he'll save me by buying me.
My heart beats again.
The auction, where I'm the merchandise, is something I look forward to now.
The spotlight shines on me. I've received it countless times during my university days, but now it's embarrassing.
I'm an actress, standing naked with restraints on my arms and legs. If I weren't embarrassed, I wouldn't be human.
But I can stand because I have hope—hope that my brother will save me from these madams.
[The auction for Soo-rim begins on February 3, 2562.]
It's starting. The participants in the auction seats hold up their numbered panels again.
[Human Name: Soo-rim.
Former Occupation: Actress.
Reason for Auction: Drug Use.]
My body trembles at the false reason for the auction. But I manage to calm myself.
"She's so calm despite being a drug user."
"Leave her alone. She still thinks she's an actress."
"Hmm, maybe she'll lose that arrogant face if she works at our place."
The auction hall is quiet, so the murmurs of the participants are audible. Don't worry; I won't be sold to them. I have my brother.

[70% chance of pregnancy. Overall grade is A.]
But hearing my body described like a product is unbearable. It feels like my sanity is melting away.
"Only an A grade?"
"Well, she's an actress who rose to the top, so it's not surprising she's not an S grade."
"Foolish women. It's not an A grade because she can't have children. Why show off your ignorance even here?"
"A 70% chance of pregnancy is high, isn't it?"
"Don't trust the measuring device. 70% is almost impossible to get pregnant. It should be at least 90%."
"Then it's actually good?"
"We should let customers do whatever they want."
"Oh no...our club can't use someone who can't get pregnant."
"You should close down such a perverted business. What's an impregnation club?"
"You haven't tasted enough money, have you? Try running it once; it's no joke."
The madams openly evaluate me, and each comment is terrifying.
But I have my brother. He'll save me.
Those aren't my stories...
Certainly...
[Note: This product contains detectable drug residues. While it may exhibit withdrawal symptoms later, this is not a reason for cancellation. Please be aware of this.]
The reason for no returns is drug addiction...but I won't be addicted anymore. It's been two months since I was first forcibly administered drugs, and I'm fine now.
[The starting price for an A-grade product is 1 billion. Please raise your panels and bid.]
Beep. The auction begins.
"1.5 billion won."
A madam who plans to make me serve customers by having them ejaculate on me bids 1.5 billion won.
"2 billion won."
A madam who wants to impregnate me unexpectedly bids 2 billion won.
"3 billion won."
Another madam, who scolded someone for being ignorant, bids 3 billion won.
It's too little. The amount is too small.
Even in a livestock auction, 3 billion won is an insult to my dignity. I recently earned 10 billion won from a movie, and now I'm being sold for just 3 billion?
I glance at my brother, who is still watching the auction calmly.
Fortunately, it seems like he's preparing something.
If it's my brother, he'll bid a perfect price that no one can match.
"5 billion won."
The madam who wants to make me serve customers bids 5 billion won with determination.
"What's going on? Is this cheating?"
"You did the same thing last time. You bid double for the child you wanted and took them away quickly."
"You're despicable."
"Hmm, this time I'll make an exception."
The madam ignores the jeers from others and seems genuinely eager to buy me.
These people want to buy me for around 5 billion won. Even if I supposedly took drugs, earning 10 billion won and being sold for just 5 billion is outrageous.
"10 billion won."
The bid comes from behind, and all participants turn around. It's my brother, just as I expected.
No one objects to the price or complains, probably intimidated by my brother's appearance and build.
Of course, my brother has a bit of a delinquent look. He's large, with bleached hair and a tan...
I initially rejected the acting role he offered because of that.
[10 billion won has been bid. Are there any other bidders?]
The atmosphere becomes tense, and no one speaks.
"10.5 billion won!"
The madam who wanted to impregnate me bids with a trembling voice, but she won't win. My brother will bid an even higher price.
"20 billion won."
I remember the look of defeat on the madam's face, unable to buy me.
[20 billion won. Are there any other bidders?]
"Hey!"
"What is this guy doing?"
"No morals at all..."
"I was worried when I didn't see him at the auction before, and now I know why..."
The madams throw down their panels and leave, which feels somewhat satisfying.
Yes. It's my brother. He's the only one who recognizes my worth.
[Announcement: Soo-rim has been sold to Jun-seong for 20 billion won at 5:10 PM on February 3, 2562.]
I'm relieved. Truly relieved.
I sit down right there, feeling my tension ease.
I survived thanks to Jun-seong, my brother.
Although I expected to be freed immediately by my brother, the process took longer. I waited in the auction house's livestock holding cell for two days.
Fortunately, it was a solitary room, unlike the dreadful orphanage where many livestock were kept. The meals were good too.
But it was still like a prison. The mattress on the floor was very uncomfortable.
However, knowing that my brother would soon become my owner was comforting enough.
He wouldn't be the kind of owner who would make me serve customers or get pregnant. Most importantly, he would treat me like a human.
Even if I'm livestock, if I meet a good man, I can live almost like a human. My brother will definitely take care of me.
It's sad that I can no longer act or buy things I want. I can't even go to the fitness club. Everything that allowed me to live independently is gone.
But I should be grateful for this much. People who commit crimes like this often end up in terrible situations, sold to madams like these.
Clank.
"Come out."
Finally, the moment has arrived. The day I leave this dreadful place and enter my brother's arms.
I stand up eagerly on all fours, my legs straight.
Clank. A leash is put around my neck. It's a terrifying experience, but for now, it feels enjoyable.
Soon, I'll be able to stand on two legs and hug my brother.
My hero. My savior.
I want to see him. Quickly!
I hurry my steps, not even noticing if my knees are scraped.
