"Oh really? The Grand Duke was here?"
Elizabeth, who had achieved a remarkable mental awakening two days ago,
Had a distinctly different aura as she entered Eugene's room.
However, Eugene, who only saw Elizabeth as his adorable little sister, lacked the sharpness to detect the hint of madness in her eyes that differed from before.
Perhaps Eugene was even more of a sister-fool than Elizabeth was a brother-complex sister.
That's why Eugene simply welcomed the lovely Elizabeth with open arms as always, and they were having this ordinary conversation.
Grand Duke Antoine had left for Helios, the capital of the Ellisium Empire, after having a conversation with Victoria two evenings ago and then breakfast with his youngest daughter Elizabeth the next morning.
Eugene was hearing about the situation from Elizabeth.
"Yes, Father asked me to take good care of you, dear brother, who has achieved awakening. Of course, he didn't hold back on complimenting you."
Looking at Eugene's disappointed face, Elizabeth calmly relayed Antoine's words as if to comfort him.
From Eugene's perspective, this was the adoptive father he would have been meeting after 2 years and 4 months.
As the adopted son, Eugene felt sorry for not even being able to give a basic greeting upon his return.
"Haha, really? I'm glad the Grand Duke complimented me. The Empire's Sword Master, no less."
And Eugene wanted to stand before Antoine with his awakened body.
Antoine is one of the Empire's two official Sword Masters.
Eugene had thought that simply standing before him as an awakened one would serve as a great stimulus for his future path as a swordsman, as he was returning to the Grand Duke's mansion after completing his quest.
"Is the Grand Duke really that important to you, dear brother?"
When Eugene showed genuine pleasure at hearing Antoine had praised him, Elizabeth tilted her head curiously and asked.
"Of course. He took me in when I was alone and raised me well."
Honestly, from Eugene's perspective, Antoine was the most distant family member.
Father-son relationships are generally like that, especially between an adoptive son and adoptive father.
Moreover, Antoine was not often at home and was not as affectionate as the women of the Grand Duke's household.
Elizabeth's questioning came from having sensed this dynamic.
Furthermore, she had seen her father downplaying Eugene while supporting Victoria as the future of swordsmanship.
However, Antoine was the one who allowed Eugene to grow up surrounded by the absolute love of the women in the Grand Duke's household. How could he not feel grateful as a human being?
"Hmm... but the one spending time with you now is me, Elizabeth."
But even that displeased Elizabeth.
For her, this precious time alone with Eugene,
She wanted her dear brother to focus solely on her during this time.
"What are you talking about, Elizabeth? Your brother always focuses on you. That's why I came straight here as soon as the quest was over, because I wanted to spend time with you."
Eugene joked and acted wronged.
He had good reason to.
After all, wasn't he Eugene Schneider, who had suppressed his desire to have sex with Jeanne despite being by her side all day?
Having achieved that abstinence and returned to be with his sister Elizabeth, he was now expressing his clear intentions.
"I really like that response of yours, dear brother."
Smile
Seeing her dear brother's dynamic reaction, so different from his usual gentle demeanor,
Elizabeth smiled subtly, pleased.
"By the way, dear brother."
Then Elizabeth tilted her head again with a curious expression.
"It seems you've undergone quite a significant change?"
Elizabeth had noticed that Eugene had clearly changed.
"Change??"
Eugene hesitated slightly at Elizabeth's words.
'What? What change did Elizabeth notice? Did she sense my magical energy? Or did she realize I achieved secondary awakening?'
In the past few days, Eugene had undergone too many changes even by his own admission.
He had achieved secondary awakening as a Sword Expert breakthrough,
His magical energy had begun to manifest in earnest,
And he'd lost his virginity.
Of course, judging by Eugene's current reaction, he wasn't considering the loss of virginity.
"....."
Elizabeth silently observed Eugene for a few seconds.
"It seems you've achieved secondary awakening?"
The keyword she then mentioned was Eugene Schneider's attainment of Sword Expert status.
"You can tell that right away?"
Eugene's eyes widened in surprise.
Normally, determining someone's awakening state happens at least during combat.
And most judgments are based on observing specific symptoms like mana techniques or sword energy.
But Elizabeth had shown a reaction close to certainty without any such foundation.
"Your sister is the top student at the Magic Tower, dear brother. A child with record-breaking grades. While mental awakeners generally have skill in mana detection, I've far surpassed that level."
Elizabeth answered with a smile, finding Eugene's wide eyes cute.
Elizabeth, who had read magic-locked ancient texts based on her User Alpha characteristics,
Doesn't express it due to her personality, but she perceives far more than others think.
"Especially since you're still unfamiliar with Sword Expert energy, you're not controlling it properly. That made it easier to detect. Even for me, it would have taken longer to notice if you were a more experienced Sword Expert, dear brother."
"Oh, I see."
Of course, that's relative.
The current 20-year-old Elizabeth is also an expert-level Superior Magician.
Therefore, if Eugene had been a practitioner who was accustomed to the expert level for a long time, his secondary awakening wouldn't have been exposed in such an anticlimactic way.
"This is truly congratulatory, dear brother. While I've always believed in you and thought you were special, I can't hide my joy about this. To achieve secondary awakening, an awakener beyond awakeners! And at such a young age!"
"Haha, I think I was just lucky. The Pilgrim's Path seemed to have a significant connection with me."
"I believe that connection was also brought about by your specialness, dear brother. Please consider this not just casual words, but the truth spoken as a magician."
With his brother-complex sister's absolute support,
Eugene felt shy and acted modest.
But Elizabeth's praise for him showed no signs of diminishing.
"Hmm... now that you've achieved secondary awakening, may this sister give you a gift?"
At that moment, Elizabeth took on a thoughtful expression, then expressed her desire to give a gift to her dear brother who had achieved significant success as a swordsman.
"A gift? I already have armor and a greatsword. I wonder if there's anything that could be a gift?"
When the topic of gifts came up, Eugene scratched his head slightly, wondering if there was anything suitable.
Eugene had vaguely heard that those who achieved secondary awakening as Sword Experts undergo a major equipment overhaul. Sometimes they do it themselves, and sometimes when they have many companions, the companions provide it as a secondary awakening gift.
But the Greatswordsman class doesn't tend to be as detail-oriented about equipment as other classes,
So there doesn't seem to be a particular reason for replacement right now.
"Have you ever heard of expert-level weapon inventory, dear brother?"
But the gift that Superior Magician Elizabeth had in mind was not that.
"Ah! I've heard of it! The weapon inventory that only some expert-level people possess!"
Weapon inventory,
A dimensional boundary-type inventory that allows weapons to be stored in a spatial pocket and retrieved again.
This ability can be considered available only to experts whose mana activation has exceeded a certain level.
However, a characteristic is that it cannot be acquired independently,
It is created for other awakeners beyond expert level by superior or higher magicians.
"I've only heard about it, never seen it in person. I saw a Sword Expert on the Pilgrim's Path, but even they didn't have a weapon inventory."
However, those lofty magicians, especially superior and higher magicians, are unlikely to perform this task willingly.
Therefore, usually only expert-level awakeners who have reached a considerable level or Sword Seeker level awakeners possess weapon inventories.
Apart from such career and absolute ability metrics, it could be obtained through connections,
But for low-ranking noble Sword Experts who typically only have 1-5 years of experience, unless they are of considerable noble status, it's not easy to build the kind of friendship with magicians needed for such requests.
Hence, weapon inventories are rare ability equipment.
"But our Eugene has me, Elizabeth. A Superior Magician and top student at the Magic Tower. So even though you're a Sword Expert who has just achieved secondary awakening, you can have a weapon inventory."
Smile
Watching Eugene share his experiences and information, Elizabeth smiled with a sense of pride.
Indeed, the world is about academic, regional, and blood connections.
Some people put themselves on the line participating in quests just to build a connection with a magician,
But Eugene was born to find his father's friend was a Grand Duke and his daughter was a genius magician.
She even had a brother complex for her non-blood-related brother and was desperate to do more for him.
Eugene, who had struggled considerably in his past life and early current life, was finally seeing the sun rise in his life.
"But I heard that such work has significant meaning for magicians. That's why they don't readily do it."
However, Eugene genuinely cherishes and loves his sister Elizabeth.
That is, as Elizabeth's brother, he's not the type of person to exploit her abilities for his own benefit.
When a magician makes a talent contribution to someone, it's on a completely different level than simply selling something for money.
To illustrate, it's no different from a master craftsman personally delivering his famous sword to a renowned swordsman.
In that case, if the swordsman proves incompetent or commits dishonorable acts, it tarnishes the master's name as well.
The creation of a weapon inventory by a magician follows the same mechanism,
So naturally, if they are lofty magicians, they would exercise their characteristic meticulousness and create weapon inventories only for those who won't damage their reputation.
Elizabeth is currently the Magic Tower's most promising talent and the primary genius of general magic who will lead the Empire's future.
Eugene knows well that his sister Elizabeth takes pride in this and is studying hard.
Therefore, he's cautious about using his connections for personal gain and potentially tarnishing her reputation.
"What are you saying, dear brother?"
Grasp
At that, Elizabeth, with an expression that suggested his words were absurd, firmly grasped Eugene's hand with both of her hands.
"No honor greater than your love exists for me, dear brother. If it helps you, especially something important for the battlefield, it's ultimately related to your life, so there's nothing more meaningful to this sister."
Yes, love,
If there's something that transcends academic, regional, and blood connections, it's love.
It is clearly the highest justification and a motive that provides extreme elevation.
Elizabeth appealed to her beloved brother, asking him not to ignore such a noble reason.
"Ah! I see...! You're right, Elizabeth. There certainly is such family love between us! Alright. I'll become the best swordsman. I'll grow to be someone who further elevates our sister's name."
Eugene, feeling the value of that love, changed his mind.
As he had already mentioned, becoming the best is what matters.
Hadn't Eugene also promised Jeanne that he would become an alpha male?
Recalling that progressive mindset, Eugene made the decision to gladly accept his sister's help.
"Then shall we start creating the weapon inventory, dear brother...?"
Grin
Looking at Eugene's determined face,
Elizabeth smiled with a hint of madness that the sister-foolish Eugene still didn't perceive.
'An unbreakable connection between dear brother and me... through my place... hehehe...'
Conspiracy,
It was a smile that concealed the sinister plot of a yandere brother-complex sister.
