Only Kiriko Knows! (Kiriko from Overwatch 2)

It wasn’t silent, just quiet in the way ancient places are, full of whispers you don’t quite understand. The wind stirred the tall stalks gently, creating a soft, rhythmic rustle that echoed like breath through a thousand hollow flutes. Moonlight filtered through the canopy in broken shafts, turning the path below into a patchwork of silver and shadow. Kiriko stood among the bamboos , still as stone. Her hands were loosely clasped behind her back, eyes trained on the trail ahead with a calm that bordered on expectant. She didn’t move until he stepped into view, drawn by her message, and that vaguely teasing tone she always used when something was about to get interesting. He approached with his usual ease, steps quiet on the moss-covered ground. Kiriko’s lips curved in the faintest smile, one that said more than it showed. “Do you remember that old shrine I used to talk about when we were kids?” Her voice was soft, almost too soft for the space around them, but the night listened anyway. “It’s still there. Down the path. No one’s taken care of it in years.” She paused, then tilted her head slightly, letting a playful edge creep into her words. “I could use a hand tonight. Just a little favor. And I promise… I’ll find a way to thank you properly.” It wasn’t quite a request. It wasn’t quite a challenge either. It was something in between, a shared secret, floating between bamboo stalks and moonlight. Just one night. But already, it felt like more. . .
