WEEKLY UPDATE!! 11/18/24
🕑 Added 2024-11-18 22:00:09 +0000 UTCApologies for the late post! I ran into an issue yesterday on the highway while returning home from my sister’s place. My car stopped accelerating in the middle of traffic! I avoided getting into an accident and managed to safely pull over and wait for my car to get towed. I had no idea what happened to it until I took it to the shop today. The fuel pump apparently short circuited, which caused me to slow down to a stop. Thankfully, everything was still under warranty, so the worst is behind me (I Hope). I appreciate your patience and understanding with the delay. Without further ado, here is the latest update!
Big thanks to everyone who participated in Contract Contest #11, both the voters and anyone who submitted their ideas! The contest has come to a close and the winner has been chosen. The next contract will be “The Daughter of Darkwood” by RobTheNomad! Congratulations to them! I’ll begin working on the art and start sharing some of it in next week’s update!
Speaking of art, that’s what I’ve been focusing my time on. This week I finished the colors and expressions for the new Gorgon character, Kyless. You can check out a preview of her here:

Working on facial expressions is one of the most engaging parts of the creative process for me. So much of a character’s personality is brought to life during this stage. After refining the expressions needed for specific scenes, I like to experiment by sketching a variety of expressions to see what emerges. Sometimes, it feels like I can almost hear the character’s voice in my head, and their mannerisms and actions just come naturally. I get the sense that I understand Kyless much better now, as well as Effie, the character that I am currently working on. I'll have plenty more to share with you in the following weeks as we are still early in this update cycle.
