WIP: Perfume Quality and length of reaction buffs
🕑 Added 2021-07-04 08:43:38 +0000 UTCThis weekend I have been working on code regarding the quality of perfumes and the length of having the buffs. Goal is to have the mood buffs be as long as the actual hidden perfume buffs. Because different perfumes last different times, I had to create copies of all my reaction buffs, so now I have 5 versions of each. I have 3 different lengths of of normal quality perfumes. The quality can be poor, normal and outstanding.
The buffs can last either 1, 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours. This list below shows how they are used.
- Shortly lasting poor quality: 1h
- Shortly lasting normal quality: 2h
- Shortly lasting outstanding quality: 4h
- Medium lasting poor quality: 2h
- Medium lasting normal quality: 4h
- Medium lasting outstanding quality: 8h
- Longer lasting poor quality: 4h
- Longer lasting normal quality: 8h
- Longer lasting outstanding quality: 12h
And in these the Reaction buffs for using too much perfume are not counted, this is only for normal usage (success version). Also this is only the buffs the sim who wear the perfume, not any broadcasted buffs on other Sims.
I have at the moment 17 different buff types:
- Like perfume - happy buff
- Like perfume - energized buff
- Like perfume - flirty buff
- Like perfume - playful buff
- Like perfume - confident buff
- Love perfume - happy buff
- Love perfume - energized buff
- Love perfume - flirty buff
- Love perfume - playful buff
- Love perfume - confident buff
- Dislike perfume - embarrassed buff
- Dislike perfume - uncomfortable buff
- Hate perfume - embarrassed buff
- Hate perfume - uncomfortable buff
- Neutral to perfume - bored buff
- Neutral to perfume - fine buff
- Allergic to perfume - uncomfortable buff
So when all these 17 buffs comes in 5 version each. Just for Reaction buffs I now have 85. And I was planning to make a dazed version of allergic too later on. Then there will be 90.
At the moment all the different buffs don't have different texts and other special things on them. The different length versions share the same texts and icons.
It's pretty interesting to see how many files it takes to create a mod trying to make it with some kind of depth and a few variations. Not writing this for any other reason than to tell you what I am currently focusing on, some progress and a little behind the scenes. After I am done with Perfume Quality related work, my next big thing to do is to continue working with the perfume crafting. I believe I have done one third or halfway of that process right now. And it is an important part of the Scent Knowledge skill.
