A commission I had done by the fantastic Rex Equinox! This is the 2nd commission I've got from them, and I had another great experience, though I did had to wait a bit to get started (Rex is very popular!)
"The evil dragon Xaeldrayr, rumored to be unkillable, has terrorized the land for ages. Four brave heroes journey to his lair, determined to lay that rumor to rest. The group is led by Red, a fearsome barbarian warrioress. Nyana devoted priestess of Drelanke, protects and heals them. "Sureshot" Elasha is a shadowy figure whose bow never misses. Azith is a fledgling mage but wields immense power. Together they are unstoppable, but will it be enough to kill the immortal?"
I dreamed this up while thinking about the Dragon Hoard video I did, which was based on a Jolly Jack comic. I always wondered if the Elf woman transformed because the treasure was cursed (so she remains herself), or if she was invisibly possessed by the spirit of the dragon she just killed. This got me thinking of an alternate version of that video where a spirit mist is seen entering the Elf's body just before the transformation.
The only problem was there's nobody around to "appreciate" such an exchange. I thought about the Dragon's past, how a group of adventurers may have come into the lair before, how they met an untimely end as each of them became possessed by the dragon. And here we are!
Eventually, if things work out, there will be 3 more parts to this, but there is much work to do before that happens...
