As rough as some of the early VA and animation is (at least in comparison to how good it gets), I do love how these early episodes set an overall tone for the series. Like, yeah, here’s a cute animal doing funny shit, but in the backdrop are the remains of a genocide and a sober reflection on the atrocities of war.
