Typo, it's Grave, but it's AMAZING. Akira is ok but has one of the best horrific songs/scenes in anime, definitely a "must see" though. Ghost in the Shell is GREAT.

After seeing how much Jimmy and Dummy enjoy martial arts films, Kung Fu Hustle is a no brainer. Brilliant action/comedy. So much fun!

The Grey (2011). Awesome (and surprisingly deep) action/survival movie featuring Liam Neeson (and friends) fighting wolves. Nuff said.

The Way of the Gun (2000). A brilliant crime movie written by the guy who wrote Edge of Tomorrow, Usual Suspects, and Mission Impossible: Fallout. Jimmy liked all three of those movies, so this one is a pretty good bet, I think. Insanely underrated film!

Fargo (1996). Since Jimmy seemed to like the Coen brothers' writing style, I suggest we continue on through their best works. I notice that Jimmy has seen Fargo the tv show (Coen brothers producing) but not Fargo the movie (Coen brothers writing). It's one of my favourites of theirs, so I think that might be a good one to try next! A great crime/comedy that's independent of the tv show.

I would also suggest "Rush" with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl. It's a brilliant movie, even if you're not directly interested in Formula 1 driving (like me). You don't have to be interested in that to love this movie. It's so much more than just a sports movie and has great music by Hans Zimmer and two fantastic performances, especially by Daniel Brühl as Niki Lauda. One of my favorites of the last decade. And underrated as hell!!

You like manipulative mobster type characters a good bit, so I'd recommend The Crying Game about the IRA. Other recommendations: The Devil's Advocate Looper Pacific Rim Equilibrium and of course Gattaca

Resubmiting unused suggestions of mine; I know some people disagree on some of these but I think they'd make good reactions. Any of these appeal?: Clue (1985), a who's who of 80s comedy talent does a wacky murder whodunnit based on the board game Speed Racer (2008), the Wachowski siblings campy bright kinetic action packed fun adaptation of the children's anime? One of my favs. Zodiac (2007), director David Fincher's look at the investigation into the Zodiac Killer, and on the nature of obsession, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, & Robert Downey Jr. Contagion (2011), Steven Soderbergh's star studded tense thriller about a worldwide epidemic, which while a significantly worse plague ended up being prescient in certain ways Big Trouble in Little China (1986) teams Kurt Russell & director John Carpenter again (after The Thing & Escape from NY) in a campy self aware satirical action comedy that is one of my top 10 movies all time. Kung Fu Hustle (2004), an action/comedy starring and directed by Stephen Chow. It's basically a kung fu movie mixed with a looney tunes episode, it's absurd and off the wall. He did a more grounded (slightly) movie prior to this one about super-powered soccer players called Shaolin Soccer which is also good, but I'd say start with Hustle. Maverick (1994), an adventure/western/action/comedy adapting the 1957 show of the same name, about a slick, fast talking gambler and his misadventures attempting to acquire the entrance fee to a major poker tournament. Stars Mel Gibson, with Jodie Foster, Alfred Molina, and James Garner. A personal favorite from my youth. The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007), throwing a curveball: a documentary. It's pretty funny, about some super strange real life characters. Talks about competitive arcade gaming, specifically a big fight over the world record for donkey kong. It's a strange tale of underdogs, villains, and absurdity.
