What a fantastic way to describe the film. I never saw it as a kid, and I couldn't really get into it as an adult, but I do see why others would enjoy it.

So glad you guys enjoyed it. For me the nostalgia makes it hard to tell how good the movie is or how well it's aged, and it's hard to describe specifically why I like it, but there's a fun and unserious 'meta' quality to it that makes it likeable. It has its weaknesses but it still feels like more than the sum of its parts.
