I don't think we need two Soderbergh movies in the top 4. One is quite enough for me. Even though I don't love Out of sight either, I would have preferred it a million times over Contagion. Maybe next month. I think Lord of War, The Count and Dune are much higher quality than any of Soderbergh's films. I can't really say much about Get Shorty, I saw it years ago , liked it - but didn't love it, but I don't remember much about it. . So a reaction wouldn't be so bad, a chance to rewatch it.

Man, I seem to have a knack for suggesting movies that end up coming in dead last! As my own talents go... that one might not necessarily be my favourite :S I'm curious: Is it because people haven't seen Out of Sight, or was it just not your cup of tea? Personally, I think that both of the Elmore Leonard-based films that made the poll this month absolutely DESTROY the other contenders, in terms of quality... but I suppose everyone thinks that of their own suggestions :)

Good to see my girl Kate Winslet …. I was really sucked in to that movie. Fantastic cast. gwenyth, Matt, Jude, and my guy from Hannibal whose name escapes me. I thought it was affecting. Especially the way it was shot and structured. I rewatched during Covid and had a whole new appreciation. It got my vote.

Aw man, I suggested Contagion and love it. Makes me a little sad you hate it because you're one of the better patrons I see here and I prefer when we agree. But to each their own, I suppose=)

Count of Monte Cristo was well received, one of the better Dumas adaptations. Dune from what I hear deserves the hype. Finally have the technology to bring the novel to life in a way the 80's film and the mini series in 2003 weren't able to do. Get Shorty is a fun film with Travolta, Devito, Hackman. I saw Be Cool before this and the original is much better.

I honestly would rather you watch Dune on your own, in theatre, because its one of the best theatre movies I've ever seen.

aaah I miss The Hunt here. I freaking hate Contagion. Dune, while being a masterpiece...I don't have a good feeling about. But at least Lord of War and count of Monte Cristo and I saw the devil are great. Lone Survivor is alright too. And Out of sight is a much better Soderbergh movie than Contagion.

agreed. I mean it's by my favorite director of all time. And like everything else he has made - a masterpiece. And they loved Prisoners and at least liked Arrival. But this is not a movie for dummy, same goes for Blade Runner 2049. (all directed by Villeneuve). But Jimmy might like it.

Dune & Contagion would make me so happy. Count of Monte Cristo is right up Jimmy's alley. And Lord of War because he needs to see the actually good Nic Cage performances, not just the campy ones.
