I feel like since the point is that the kids go for the much worse option for their own benefit, it makes sense, if Jiminez was down for a deal it would be the obvious choice over the creepy far right dude who kept talking about how 'clean' he wanted the country.

I think for this episode it was pretty obvious they had some mainstream political consultants and most of them were on the left and were like the standard issue establishment bullshit democrat haha. It is like the left wing guy is automatically good even though we hadn't even seen him or heard him talk or anything hahaha. I don't blame the show for that honestly, and it doesn't ruin the episode at all for me, still amazing.

The reason I found this so anxiety-inducing is less about 2016 and 2020 comparisons, and more about a sickening window into 2024. But yes, outstanding episode of television, yet again, in an exceptional season. If they stick the landing (which I have every reason to think they will), this will go down in media history, for sure. Even more so than it already will.
