Kaitlyn Dever is a great actress, I love her. But she's not Abby. Like. Abby is a person you're scared for Ellie to be around. And I think there's nothing wrong with wishing that was preserved - someone being big and hulking, monstrous to be coming for you... who eventually gets soften by a wee tiny orphan? The visual parallel is lost. At least, if not big and muscular (which women can achieve) someone tall, yk?
