An update regarding Bereft Souls

Today I have a few things to say on the development of the pack and setting certain point clearer regarding the scope and the progress that we’ve made
First of all, let’s get the bad news out of the way: we had a disagreement with the Thorium team regarding the use of their work and the monetization of the project, leading to their decision to withdraw from the pack. We lost a significant amount of work ourselves, as we were focusing on getting some compatibility with this mod first. But the Thorium team as made their decision and we must respect it. Please do not harass them of try to convince them to change their mind yourself, it will most likely make the situation worse.
So, the CURRENT mods that we are working are Fargo, Calamity, Fargo DLC and Secret of the Shadows.
Now, into the good news: seeing that the general scope of the project became much more manageable, as Thorium was an absolute beast of a mod to make compatible with the rest, javyz, the developer of Fargo / Fargo DLC alongside their team decided to offer us some help and join the development effort. With this, the development became much more organized and we got a lot of new people to get more work and testing done on the compatibility with Secret of the Shadows.
This merge with Fargo DLC made us change multiple things about the organization of the pack. Mainly, the content that we decide to change won’t be included in a single compatibility mod. Depending on the change, the code could either be directly added to Fargo DLC, or into the compatibility mod, or even into “modules” that adds a certain amount of specific compatibility which could be used outside of the Bereft Souls. An example of a module we have done is “Combined Fargo's & SotS Pyramid” which would be a mod usable by other modpack makers fixing something that is not handled by the tPackBuilder API (worldgen)
For the development, we decided to implement mods one by one, so right now we are working on SOTS, but once we consider that this mods fits well enough with the rest, we will work on the remaining mods, and possibly add more. There is some discussions being done internally regarding which content mod would make a good fit to replace the ones we lost, but no definitive answer yet. We will most likely choose mods with bosses that fit in well with the current mods we have included.
We will then focus on the bonus content like enchantments and more, but for now, our current focus is the compatibility, balance and merging the progression.
In parallel, Nycro is still working on the Quest Book API mod, which will be it’s own mod instead of being included in the tPackBuilder API like I said in my video, to allow mod devs to include a quest system in their mods even if they do not plan to make a modpack out of it. Nycro also took some time to update the tPackbuilder API with features requested by the community on Discord, you can find more of this in the tPack category on the server.
I know that the loss of Thorium seems like a huge deal, and it’s sad to see the mod go, but internally, this news actually allowed us to solidify our planning, taking one thing at a time. If you guys have any questions I’d be happy to respond to them. Additionally, I am open to refund people here who find the non inclusion of Thorium a deal breaker

To be honest, I was never interested in Thorium neither its bosses nor any of its content really appealed to me. I'm only sad because losing such a big chunk of content means less overall challenge for crafting the Soul of Eternity. (Yes, the harder it is to craft Soul of Eternity, the better it is for me! :))

Well the Thorium team, and especially it’s creator, Divermansam, believes that any kind of monetization in the tMod community is toxic, and that he is himself working to remove his own Patreon. Since we revolve around this Patreon to finance this project, it made it impossible for us to remove it. There is also the fact that we use the work of others (the original mods) to make the modpack. Some developers don’t mind and helped us to make the pack development easier, but some, like the Thorium team, ended up not wanting us to use their content. They did not pull out because they wanted to be annoying, and even if disappointing, we should respect their decision. But as said in the announcement, the bright side is that now that we are working on mods one by one with the Fargo DLC team, we are much more organized!

This is so disappointing to hear. Can you please share more on the monetization disagreements that led them to pull out of this project? I realize there's a few other commenters asking the same, but I think some more clarity on why exactly this happened is more than necessary right now.
