I wanted to keep a similar look to her version in Ruined King (which personaly, is my favourite) mixed with her original outfit.

She has her hand on her forehead/chin, and the other image has the character brushing her hair over her head. How is that the same? Besides, the poses are not even remotely similar. One is laying down relaxed on a couch with the head resting on the hand. The other is standing up leaning against a wall brushing her hair over her head. Also, the compositions are completely different from one another. I really don't understand the issue here.

I know its hard to come up with poses, but this is 2 girls holding their hair this month =)

it really depends on the source material. If the source material is more "stylized" (like anime, cartoons, etc), I try to retain the general structure shape of the face (if it's rounder, more angled etc), and the general "shape" of the hairstyle. But in order to make it not so different than the source material, I try to make it a bit more "comic" If the source material is realistic (comic books, games, series etc) then I simply go for a more realistic approach but still retaining my style.

May i ask what determins, wether you paint faces more Comic Like or realistic almost portrait like, Like in this beautiful piece? Is it an unconcious Thing or do you actively choose to to so?
