Who’s this mysterious figure in the shadows? I wonder..
Hello! Everything is still on track for the next Patreon Con-Quest update on June 16th.
The intro for this update is going to have several animated cutscenes to set up the story. Here you can see some of the storyboards for the animations, the rest will be kept secret for now 😉
We want the beginning of the game to bring up a lot of questions for who you are as the player. Where did you come from, why are you here in the world of Con-Quest? There is something that sets you apart from your friends… Who’s the witch, and the real question, can the player bang her?!
While this update will set up a lot of these questions, in future updates we hope to get to explore them. The world of Con-Quest is ever-evolving, and I hope we hope we get the chance to fully answer these mysteries someday!
For a long time we weren’t sure if we wanted to have a canonical design for the player character, but after a lot of deliberation, and months of arguing, we decided to go ahead and settle on a design.
The next update for Con-Quest will also show off our completely revamped text and choice system!
We wanted to add more interaction into the story sections of Con-Quest so we added a fairly robust choice system. You can now make decisions on your journey. Some will impact gameplay while others will impact the story and some will be just for fun.
Our goal is to make characters you will fall in love with. With new choice system, you can have far more charming interactions with your favorite characters than ever before.

Agreed. Even though the art great, I much rather have a more anonymous mc. I've always loved the fact that the focus has been on the characters and not us, and the few times we are focused on, it's always turned into a joke about how no one knows wtf we are or what we look like. And that's a charm that made me start loving this game in the first place I'd miss.

Not the biggest fan of the player avatar, especially having a male one, but it's whatever in the long run.

That's fair. However, this player character will not do or say anything without your input. They will act closer to an avatar rather than their own unique character that you happen to be in control of. We felt that having some kind of in-game representation of the player was too important not to add for both a plot reason and to make conversations with characters look more dynamic.

I LOVE THE NEW DIALOGUE UI! The vibrant accents that make those text boxes pop, the subtle animation of the character image coming into frame when you hover over a selection, and even that little pulsing moon icon in the corner-- it looks so good!
