Faye's emotes are now finished and put into the game, and she's coming in with a fresh look.
Older players might remember when we updated Faye's emotes in the past, or even when characters only had a single static emote.
Faye was our first character to have multiple emotes added to the game. She was sort of our test girl for that new system. After that, we came to the conclusion that having different expressions for the characters really brought conversations to life. Plus it was fun for us!
Regardless of the update, we have to tweak the costumes for many of the characters due to copyright reasons. Faye is one of the most important characters to the story and world of Con-Quest, so we figured it was a good time to strengthen her design and give her a polished look.
When you play through the update you'll get to witness how Faye gets her new costume first hand. :)
We showed a polished Faye emote a couple of news posts ago, at the time we were actually working on Faye's emotes alongside Vanilla's. However, half way through her production, we kept hitting a wall. Faye's blue outfit wasn't clicking with her character. It didn't really feel like the Faye we had in our heads. So we sat down and tried again, there was a lot of back and forth on how we wanted to preserve Faye's aesthetic (all the way down to what TYPE of skirt Faye should wear). In the end we decided to re-approach her outfit one more time. Something a little more girly and a purple color scheme.
We're much happier with the final Faye! We believe this new design is closer to the spirit of "Faye" and we hope you guys will like her too.
Anyways, we've also finished the art for the updated outside level of the convention center.
The old art was a single room where you couldn't go in any direction besides up.
The new intro will feature a small questline for you to meet Faye, and together you'll explore the new rooms before stepping foot inside the Con-Quest building.
The convention center is a very mysterious building. With many interior rooms to explore. However, in future builds, you might want to go outside every now and then. Who knows what you might find. :)

I am really loving this game so far. Been with it since ivy was introduced on the newgrounds. Really loving the new direction you are taking. Makes it feel more alive and interactive from the screen shots i am seeing. If i may make a request, can Jolly get more screen time. Jolteon was always my favorite growing up. Can't wait for the new update soon. Excited to see how it will progress.
