The Office Wife V.0.60 PRERELEASE
🕑 Added 2020-12-24 17:29:22 +0000 UTCGreetings Civic Leaders,
I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season so far. I've labored long and hard on the latest update to The Office Wife and I am glad to give you an early peek at it. A note about this update: it ends in the middle of a story arch, unlike my last two updates which had pretty dynamic endings, this one establishes a lot of threads, but doesn't complete them. Because of the scope of these threads and the overall story, my choice was to either hold off on releasing until mid-February, or to give you something that is still fairly substantial in the interim. I chose the latter because I don't like to make you all wait and there is enough new content (over 300 new renders and 15 animations) to justify it.
Here are the links:
A bit about this release:
- There is a walkthrough text document in the game file that will probably be really helpful. It should be up on www.jsdeacon.com/game soon.
- The Windows "Patch" version is just the new content. If you have V.0.52 already, then you can just download this version and copy the file into your game folder, replacing all. This is a new thing I'm trying to minimize you having to download the entire game each time. Keep in mind, this will wipe out your old saves if you don't back them up first. If this works okay, I'll do a Mac patch version too in the future.
- I've included several saves spaced throughout the game. Save slot 30 picks up where V.0.52 left off.
- The game will end after you have reached the maximum number of enchantments which is 42. If you are using an old save, it is possible you will have missed something and you won't ever reach 42 enchantments, which will mean the game will continue on forever. I'm not sure what will happen then. Perhaps the universe will implode upon itself. If all else fails, just start from save slot 30.
- This release is especially non-linear which has made it much more complex from a scripting point-of-view. I think I've play-tested pretty thoroughly, but bugs always come up so please let me know if you encounter any.
- I'm also continuing to fill in some of the minor characters around town so don't hesitate to explore, particularly at night.
That's it for now. I hope you enjoy it. Please reach out to me with any feedback. I love hearing from you all. Thanks again for all of your support. Happy Holidays everyone!
