Look closely- this isn't a view of the moon you've seen before
🕑 Added 2020-09-01 19:06:45 +0000 UTCThis is not a photo. This is a view of the moon as if it were it completely flipped around. I took data from NASA and JPL of the LRO- height map data and color data, and mapped it to a sphere in blender, creating a fairly accurate model of our moon. I then simulated our sun's light, positioned in a way that accurately reflects how the moon looks as it hangs in space in an accurate phase. This render was then blended with my own images and processed as if it were real, with a similar style of my past moon shots.
My goal with this image was to show you how the moon would look to us on Earth if we had a different side facing us. I still think we got the prettiest side. What do you think?
I haven't decided if I'm going to share this image on instagram or other social channels yet. Since it is purely CGI, it may give ammo to the conspiracy groups that follow my page (you should see the DMs I get after every post). I don't want to detract from the photography community by showing how easy it is to create these images using software, but obviously with today's technology I think everyone knows. I'll mull it over a bit longer.

What’s the detractor❓It’s your art your IP there’s noone else who can claim you coopted it i guess except the mapping data but since it’s purely RAW you made it human readable ‘as the moon’. I guess people could claim manipulation if you offered it as ‘look an unknown view of the moon’ without context or a watermark maybe it could be confused but i think your attempt here to show us the moon is fantastic 😍❤️
