Yet when the image is disrupted by tears, old varnish and grime, that illusion, the magic is compromised. Ender the conservator who, with care and precision will apply selected materials all in hopes of salvaging the painting, the magic and turning a lost situation about face.

Any idea when the new video will be up??
I thought this would be a painting where you could use oil paint (permanent) for the retouching, firstly because it is a copy. Secondly, because the damage was so severe - I cannot imagine any future conservator needing to undo the retouching. Have you ever retouched a painting with oil paint? and why?
