Here it is! The third and final episode of Treason Fest 2023.
This time, we're looking at how Queen Victoria invented the modern monarchy and, in the process, almost destroyed the entire institution.
I think this is a fun final episode and so I hope you get something out of it!
Making this mini-series has been a lot of fun but also very tiring and so I'm very glad to have it out in the world and to now be able to have a slightly more relaxed week or so as I continue making my way through my reading list for the next video (which there'll be more about in the next edition of the Friday Update)!

Thanks Nathan, I'm really glad you liked it! Polling definitely seems to have declined a bit more consistently among young people than among the population at large (among who it seems to swing up and down quite a lot). Although, it's only since the '90s that polling on the monarchy had been undertaken so it's hard to know how any of this compares to any historical precedents!

Very educative episode! Support for the monarchy endures though it is dwindling if recent opinion polls in UK are to be trusted. Some have said that it will be a wrap after William ascends to the throne after his father Charles III. Other monarchies in Europe, though less known, also endure. Will King Charles III follow in the footsteps of his mother Queen Elizabeth II and be visible but laid back and mysterious, or is it too late for this given his history? Will his age temper possible scandals?
