"Hnnnnffff!" whined Skip through the pacifier, as he frantically tried to take it off.
"Quit flailing, Skip!" yelled Trey as he barrelled down the road, nearly losing control several times. "I'm trying to drive!"
Skip was so distracted by the paci in his mouth that he completely forgot he was in nothing but a diaper. By the time he remembered, they were already pulling into his driveway. Skip noticed where they were and his eyes went wide as he shook his head.
"Yes, here. There's no way we're taking you to my house. How do you think I'd explain this to my parents?"
Skip shook his head and pointed to his chest.
"Yeah, I know you live with your parents too, but better you than me!"
Trey stepped out of the car and opened the door, and Skip shrank back.
"Come on, dude! The longer you stay here, the more likely you are to get caught! Let's just get you upstairs and get the damn paci gag off. I'll use the plasma cutter if I have to!"
Trey hefted the backpack with all the tools in it and grabbed his friend by the hand, dragging him forward and admonishing him to stay quiet and nondescript - well as quet and nondescript as possible in a giant puffy glowing green diaper.
"You boys back already?" called Skip's Mom as they came in. Skip was paralyzed, his bare feet feeling frozen to the floor. His legs barely wanting to fight their way forward against the thick fluff of the diaper. He felt ice in the pit of his stomach as the crinkles reverberated through the room, but Trey pulled him forward.
"Back! We'll be right back down. Skip fell in some mud and needs to shower."
"Alright," called Skip's mom. She was in the kitchen, mercifully. "Be down in a bit, I'm cooking some halloween goodies and you need to try them out!"
"Mmm mmm! Can't wait!" called Trey before unceremoniously shoving Skip into the bedroom and slamming the door behind them.
Band posters lined the wall. Dirty clothing covered the floor, chair, desk, and bed. CDs were scattered everywhere. There they were in Trey's bedroom. Trey whined with pleading eyes as Skip did his best to figure out the contraption, but it was locked tight with a buckle lock. It wasn't a normal padlock at all, but something much thicker, more industrial.
"Stop squirming," rasped Trey, trying not to raise his voice. "You're the one who wanted to explore so bad."
It took a good ten minutes with his tools to get it off, and Trey came close to injuring Skip several times because of all the squirming. Finally, it unlocked.
"Ugh! Finally," said Skip, rubbing his jaw. "Now help me out of this stupid diaper."
"Alright, alright," said Trey. "Calm down. At least we're safe now. That was some freaky shit."
"Safe? Don't be too sure."
The two of them looked over to see a young guy in torn jeans and a hoodie sitting cross legged on Skip's bed.
"Dude! Who the fuck are you?" said Skip, momentarily forgetting that he was in nothing but diaper.
"The name's James Dean."
"Dude, come on, that's not your real name. And get off the bed! You've still got your shoes on! Gross!"
"Don't worry, dude," said James, rolling his eyes. "It won't get dirty, see?"
He stepped off the bed and sure enough, there was not a smudge to be found.
"It's all for show," said Dean. He allowed himself to fade slightly out, becoming semi-transparent, before fully appearing again. "See? I'm not even really here. Just a figment of your imagination, right?"
"That's no figment!" said Trey, pointing at the twisted industrial pacifier gag. "I've never seen anything like it in my life."
"Those buildings weren't very happy places. Well, not for some of us," said the boy, shuddering.
"Did you do this?" asked Skip, getting up in the ghost-boy's face. James didn't seem intimidated.
"No, but the ones who did are going to come after you, so if you don't want to be dragged back to the nursery, you'd better do what I say."
Skip sat down impotently with a loud crinkle, the diaper cushioning his landing.
"Fuck, man," said Trey, running his fingers through his hair. "I can't be part of this. No way I'm going back to that creepy old place."
"It's too late," said Dean, before Skip was halfway to the door. "You'd better stick around. I'm your best chance of staying alive and out of diapers."
"Alive?!" said Trey and Skip in unison.
Dean nodded. "Exactly." Now he had their undivided attention.
