I smiled and clapped when I heard the news. I never thought I'd be so excited to be eating baby food. But here I was, smiling and wiggling in my diaper, pleased as punch to hear that I'd be fed honest to goodness baby food in my high chair by a man twice my size and only barely older.
"That's right, baby boy! You'll get real big boy food! Let's see what is on the menu today..." Tank smiled big as my food came around, well they were plating everyone's food at the moment. "Mmmmm mmm! Oatmeal! Cinnamon raisin! Yum yum, little guy!"
Looking at his face, I thought Tank was a little too excited about my breakfast - even moreso than me. I still didn't get why he liked to baby me so much, but I didn't get to think on it very hard because the moment the bowl was set on the tray, he was at it with the spoon and motorboating his way to my mouth, his lips puckered out in a silly expression as he made the appropriate sound effects to narrate the spoon's journey to my mouth.
"Pbbbbbbb! Here comes the motorboatttt!"
I blushed deep as I noticed that everyone was looking my way.
"Tank, please, you're making a scene-mmmmph!"
"Ah, ah, ah!" he said, wiggling a free finger as he stuffed my mouth full of oatmeal. "That's Dada to you, mister. You know better than to call me by my big boy name!"
I mumbled an apology through my oatmeal before swallowing it. Tank didn't seem to mad, though. He had already forgotten about it and was coming in for another round with motorboat number two. Like it or not, I was the morning's entertainment. That is, until Billy was brought in.
"Well, look what the cat dragged in!" said someone at the other end of the table, and we all turned to look. Sure enough, it was Billy, all trussed up in buckled restraints that made him quite easy to control.
"Found this guy looking mighty hangry in his crib... Looks like he had a big fit before I got him out," said the tall and muscular jock who was hauling Billy into the breakfast room.
"Leggo of me," growled Billy.
"Or what?" asked the Jock.
"I'll... I'll..." Billy's face went red with effort. "I'll snuggle your tummy!"
"Awwwww!!!" Everyone in the room collectively said aww because he was just so adorable, and nothing Billy did could take it back. Billy was covering his face, not believing he had just said what he had said, but pretty soon he was in a high chair of his own near his caretaker and being fed just like me. Breakfast continued with Tank and Billy's caretaker both making as big a scene as possible, much to the enjoyment of everyone in the room who wasn't an oversized baby. At least I wasn't the only one drawing all the attention for being the big cute baby in the room now.
Even with all this hullabaloo, I was happy to have real food. Real baby food.
I wondered if I would ever get used to this new life. At least I wasn't the house mascot.I couldn't see the difference it made yet, but I was soon to find out exactly what that meant.
