Callisto 0.3 - Week 6 Update
🕑 Added 2019-12-06 00:22:28 +0000 UTCUnfortunately the last week has been a bit of an exercise in frustration. As a result of a memory bug in 4.12, when rendering animations the rendering switches to CPU only from frame 2 onwards. As CPU rendering is about 10 times slower than GPU rendering, this has crippled my production this week. I have submitted a ticket to the Daz tech group (no response yet), but it doesn't look like this is going to be resolved any time soon. Unfortunately I don't have Daz 4.11 or earlier, where this is not a problem. It is also not possible to download 4.11 or earlier from what I can see (I've been looking). If you want to see details of the issue please see link - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/341006/daz-studio-pro-beta-version-4-12-1-40-updated/p33
On to more pleasant matters, I have decided what to do with the repeatable lewd content. My intention is to undertake something similar to Rogue-Like Evolution, where the lewd content becomes a small game in itself. I plan to streamline what they do by using a screen with the character portrait and arousal bar and also a number of small buttons for the different actions. This will be fairly small and located in the top left hand corner of the screen. I don't see that the coding will be particularly difficult, however it will require a number of animations with subtle variances for the different actions. Whilst these are relatively easy to pose, it will require many more GPU cycles. This essentially means that my GTX1060 won't cut the mustard and I will need to upgrade. I did not intend to do this upgrade so soon, however it is becoming necessary to do what I require in a suitable time frame.
On to the images one is the slightly younger Alice, for her backstory content. The other is a frame from an animation of the Lia lewd content. Whilst the side by side animation is a bit of an effort (have to manually edit every frame) I believe it is warranted in certain situations. I would expect that maybe 1 in 4 animations would be of this type. If you really like / dislike this idea, please feel free to post below.
With the Daz 4.12 issues and the slightly higher ambitions with the animations, it means that the real 0.3 beta will not be released this month. As I'm not really happy with this delay myself, I will suspend Patreon payments next month. Hence you will have a beta with all the content planned for 0.3, prior to the next Patreon billing cycle.
Apologies again for the delay,
Xav

LOL yea I am thinking of that teddy bear movie with Matt Damon, now that be funny if Tanya Teddy Bear not only have face expressions but also makes comments like that teddy bear did in that movie, lol
Well technically Bobo is actually Tanya's teddy bear. Now all I have to do is work out how to do facial expressions on a stuffed bear.
