Callisto 0.3 - Week 7 Update
🕑 Added 2019-12-13 03:57:47 +0000 UTCIt has been a fairly quiet week with the issues of CPU fallback still being present. The Daz3D and nVidia technical groups are aware of the problem and are trying to fix. In the meantime, I have completed the renders for the first news broadcast and have posed 12 animations for Lia. Hopefully I can get these rendering next week.
On other news, I have taken the plunge and procured another video card (RTX 2060 8GB). As you can see below, Lia's happy about the new hardware. I did ponder buying a RTX 2080Ti and even placed an order. The supplier was not able to complete this order however, as the specific card I selected was end of line and hence there were none available to sell. The other RTX 2080 Ti cards were either too large for my case or simply too expensive.
Moving forward I will use my GTX1060 for normal day to day items and also for doing all of the scene creation / posing. The RTX2060 will be used with a separate Daz3D instance and will 24/7 crunch scenes utilising a batch render utility.
Over the next couple of weeks, I should obtain greater clarity over the timing of the release of 0.3. There is currently still too much uncertainty related to the CPU fall back issues and the time I will need to render the animations.
